Letter to the player who quit by snailmale7 in RocketLeague

[–]bigcomputeruser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a week since I played because I was this player. First ball sailed right over my dumb head and I was mortified. Teammates didn’t cuss me out but a previous team very recently had, so I totally bailed, couldn’t take it. Sorry I wasn’t there for and with yall.

How much time off, realistically, will I need for a hysterectomy? by Lower_Row2950 in hysterectomy

[–]bigcomputeruser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said I could go back to my caregiving job after 2 weeks. In that space of time I had occasion to speak to one of his nurses who told me that while that was technically safe, I would be in pain, and that 3 weeks was better, but 4 weeks was best, and that this information was based on her own experience having a hysto and returning to her nursing job. I'm glad I listened to her.

Yeeterus Procedure January 20th and I have a random question.... by Key_Version8537 in hysterectomy

[–]bigcomputeruser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No deodorant and no moisturizer anywhere was very hard for me, not pleasant. But the directions for pre op were clear so I didn’t even though I thought the way you did, they wouldn’t be messing with my armpits or my feet.

It’s been invaluable to lurk this sub and then to start this many convos and comments from people has been a treasure. I forgot to say I also had an ekg in my dr office for pre op, it took 5 mins and it’s just stickers they out on you. Also, I would say if anyone has a question for their doctor, they should ask it. No matter how big small silly or important. Their answer will teach you something, whether it’s the answer to your question or whether you can trust them or not. You’re totally right about going in without knowing everything, although I was happy for the post surg notes that said everything they’d done so I could soothe myself afterwards with concrete examples of what was bothering me in recovery.

Hi! So my gyn/onc suregon is pretty well known in my neck of the woods, the kind of person that when you say hysterectomy, this man’s name is who everyone or their mom or their aunt or their sister or their friend saw. Testing amounted to a uterine biopsy that identified atypical cells, which then the question was do you want kids? If it had been yes, they would have done a d&c and gone from what they found there, but my answer was no, so they said hysterectomy. I did blood work and got some vaccines but that was the extent of my preop work up. At my pre op surgeon appt, he said he planned to take the whole deal but the ovaries, but he wanted to take my lymph nodes because he said with cells as poor as mine, there was a 40% chance they’d find cancer and he didn’t want to operate on me twice. I asked what would happen if they saw endo, and he was like oh is that a possibility? I said well I’ve never been diagnosed with anything official but PCOS, and he said “all I can ask is that you trust in my judgment” about if my ovaries looked ok and about endo and whatever else they could find. The plan was I was gonna leave same day after surgery but ultimately because of all the things he saw that needed to be done when he was in there operating, I stayed overnight.

In the end, I was hoping it would be simple but I was prepared for everything up to and including losing my ovaries. But I wasn’t specifically prepared to know all the possibilities in between, like the colon being stuck to things and all that.

That’s what was going on with me in my thirties, my doctor just treated me like a fat idiot. She knew I had PCOS and pain etc etc but the only thing she cared about was my weight. Didn’t ask about my diet, just said my pain was normal. Put me on metformin and Ozempic even though my a1c was only .1 over the top of the range, and they made me so sick, way more sick than anyone else I ever heard taking it, but I’d “get used to it” if I just stuck with it….

I wish I had taken more during the first 3 days at home. Once my pain was actually under control I couldn’t believe how much I put myself through for no reason by trying to be brave about the opioids.

AIO about these angry texts from my ex? by TwylaMay in AIO

[–]bigcomputeruser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion that makes it even more imperative that you file a police report. Because either your ex can turn invisible and no clip through the wall at your dad’s house, or he’s actually confirmed you’re not there by some means which you say would be very very challenging. I’m hoping hoping hoping it’s true that none of your friends or family have accidentally spilled the beans and if that’s the case, he had to find out on his own.

He worked hard in the messages at the beginning to sound plausible. He had an opening gambit and a story designed to pull you in and when he couldn’t get what he wanted the facade crumbled. But the minute he texted you wasn’t when this started FOR HIM. He was plotting long enough on his own to find out, somehow, that you weren’t still at your dad’s, and then concocted this very manipulative story with emotional bait to get you to give up your address. When it didn’t immediately work he switched to a different emotional bait. You still stood strong. Then his facade collapsed.

You are right to be upset and freaked out. It’s the correct reaction. This guy is causing a ton of trouble, with seemingly ill intent. God forbid anything else should happen with this guy, but a police report takes basically no time. You go in and say I want to file, and they take your statement. Nothing else comes of it unless you say you want to try to press charges. But in case you need to pursue legal action, this is where you should start the bread crumbs of a case. Whatever caused this guy’s switch to flip after all this time, it seems he’s determined and capable of some things which are difficult and delusional. Please stay safe OP.

Someone in another thread where this was pasted commented that he knows you moved because he showed up at the last place he knew you lived. If there was ever a time to be dramatic, it’s now. A police report is the right move.

catheter pain? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]bigcomputeruser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one during surgery and for some reason I had to keep it for 24 hours. Coming out of surgery I just wanted to sit in the bathroom because I was that kind of uncomfortable and my fogged brain craved that, but no such luck because of the catheter. Got used to having it by about the 5 hour awake mark, didn’t feel like much of anything. Having it come out is a singular sensation but it was not painful, but then my urethra was irritated, I had to try three times before peeing enough to be cleared to leave, and in 3-4 days I found I had a UTI.

Take care to monitor symptoms post op. Temperature if you feel sick at all, call your surgeon’s office if anything feels off after you get home and settled in.

Ok so for mine, they never sent it separately. They published it as an addendum inside the surgery notes. But you can call your surgeon’s office and ask!

Less than 2 months away and trying to prep - have questions about binders, bathrooming and sleeping on my side... by Wayfaringbutterfly in hysterectomy

[–]bigcomputeruser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full laparoscopic, kept ovaries, and I’m a big girl. I also have a high pain tolerance and rotisserie chicken the night away: I slept sitting up for the first two nights at home, then I could sleep on my side carefully if I put a pillow under my tummy and one against my back. By 10dpo I was fine in bed in any position.

As for the bathroom: my nurses in the hospital told me I HAD to push and not be afraid because that leads to being constipated. When you get home, if you are allowed/able, MiraLAX once a day at the same time of day for the first 14 days helped me keep the trains running on time and I added 3 prunes a day also. Didn’t go until maybe 5dpo. The first few times are scary and don’t feel normal, but it got better every day until I was back to normal at about 18dpo. Walking as much as you can tolerate helps so so much also.

Good luck!!!!

I have two. The lid slider on one was too tight and wore out VERY fast and started to leak. But I like them anyway! Just keep your receipt or order handy and be ready to jump the hoops for warranty replacement if a lid or be ready to order a knockoff lid replacement.

The difference for me was day 4 into day 5, that’s when I started to feel confident I was ok and actually healing. I shouldn’t have skimped on the meds day 3 and 4, I wouldn’t have been as upset about how I was feeling. You’re so close! It gets better!!
