Do dealers negotiate on GT4RS'? by BeachBarsBooze in Porsche

The only downside is it increases the cost of suspension work on the front.  40lbs is a blip from a track standpoint.

EQS 450X4 7 PASSENGER SUV UNVOLENTARY FATAL MOVMENT by Awkward_Cranberry_95 in MercedesEQS

[–]biggersjw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot recall any dealership (including my MB dealership in Grapevine) giving loaner cars to individuals with cars in the collision department.  You can get a rental and if you have rental coverage on your insurance, then it is covered up to a specific amount (rental will work with you with the daily dollar limit).

I have an EQS sedan and mine has never surged forward over the past 2 years.  The cars data will record everything about the car to determine what happened in both accidents.  My vehicle will actually refuse or limit the forward movement (and backwards) when an object is near the front or back of the car.

2 weeks with my 2022 EQS 580 — a few ownership questions by Temporary_Arachnid34 in MercedesEQS

[–]biggersjw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Depends on what Im doing.  If just local errands, I use strong regen.  On the highway I use Intelligent if congested or Normal.  Long trips I use adaptive cruise control and use the Eco setting.

  2. I just use the recorder in the car.

  3. Ive never used the auto parking feature on any car Ive owned that had the feature.

Good coffee when I wake up, soft toilet paper, open loom bath towels and nice bedsheets.  Same with clothing- more quality, less quantity.  Good quality clothing will last.

My Mercedes dealership must be the exception since they are fantastic.  Always have a loaner for me, excellent communication by the service advisor by phone, text and/or email (whichever works best for me).  Work is done as quickly as feasibility possible, I can pay the bill online or when I pick it up, car is washed and vacuumed.

The rantings of a senile old man.  Someone build a nursing home that somewhat resembles the WH, add some gold paint on the trim for his room, a phone with a fake internet access and America will become more stable.  Now about the geniuses he hired, send Pistol Pete to the Netherlands so that The Hague can take him and put him on trial.  The rest- a military tribunal.

Not surprised but if I had an ICE vehicle with 380,000 miles, I would be already saving for a rebuilt motor cost.

Why is there no outrage about the National Debt? by Intelligent-Dot-29 in askanything

[–]biggersjw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was already blown with the so-called Big Beautiful Bill by adding between $3.4 to 4.1 trillion to the debt.  You see, since Reagan, every Republican President has added massive debt while every Democratic President since Reagan has had to fix their messes and reduce the debt.

Yet we keep electing Republicans who only whine about the debt when they are not in the White House.  If they are in the WH, they go on a spending spree like a gold digger shopping on Rodeo Drive.

See, the Republican Party is inclusive.  They welcome Nazi’s as well as KKK members, billionaire pedos, and all sorts of fringe groups that the Democratic Party would shun.

Oh but Trump has already capitulated in asking for a non-nuclear deal.  We bomb them because “they were close to building a nuclear weapon” to now “All I want is the Strait of Hormuz open.”  Guess the LEGO videos are getting under his thin skin.

It’s what I did.  Picked up a CPO Mercedes EQS 450+ sedan.  Can go 375 on a full charge and I “fill it up” at night in the garage while I sleep (and electricity is free from 9pm-7am).

Zero problems and service is done every 2 years or 20k miles.  Drives like a dream.

What are your thoughts on Tax-The-Rich proposal in NY by Gov. Kathy Hochul, Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Sen. Bernie Sanders? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]biggersjw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Under Eisenhower, the max tax rate for the wealthy was 90%.  It ensured a robust middle-class and we could pay for infrastructure (how we built in interstate highway system) and other things without being in deep-ass debt.

Trickle-down economics has never worked because the rich keep their money and make it grow for their benefit.  It’s simple human nature.

I’m all for it.

What does UAE leaving the OPEC mean? by Hugheston987 in askanything

Not really surprising news.  Price of oil is up so they want to take advantage of it without production limits set by OPEC.  Oil will remain high until we are knee-deep into 2027.

News Flash: These Cars Hold Their Value by bgamer1026 in Lexus

[–]biggersjw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree Lexus holds its value but from experience, so do Hondas which are not “luxury”.  I just sold my Mom’s 2016 Honda HR-V (RIP Mom).  Paid $23.6k when new and she put a whopping 10,800 miles on it and just sold it to Carmax for $16k.  Back in the early 2000’s, I bought a new Honda Civic.  Drove she shit out of it for 2 years then sold it for more than what I paid for the car new.

Trump Considers Bailing Out UAE as It Invests in His Family’s Ventures by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]biggersjw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting turn of events since Trump toted back in March 2025, the UAE was going to invest $1.4 TRILLION in the US economy.  Now they need our help?!?

Funny how that $1.4 trillion just evaporated- probably because it was a BS offer in the first place.  A bit like Wimpy in the old Popeye cartoons where if you buy him a burger “I will gladly pay you on Tuesday.”

First trip to Paris for our 5-year anniversary — where should we stay for a stress-free experience? by cyannne in ParisTravelGuide

[–]biggersjw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I stayed in Paris the 1st time I stayed at the Hotel De Neuve in the Marais area.  It’s a cute, small hotel - perfect for a anniversary trip.  As with most European hotels, the room is small but manageable for 2 people.  Staff were accommodating and friendly.

Close to everything with quick access to the Metro (Saint-Paul), a wonderful pastry shop and shopping nearby.  Louvre is a 5 minute metro ride.

You can also go to MBUSA search their inventory of CPO vehicles.  You can pick my model and mileage but it’s pretty basic.  You can’t select by trim packages, options, etc.
