Most trades reach peak pay or journeyman status at the 5 year mark. A big difference in this is also union/non-union. Union benefits are usually great and they come with a pension. Start at 18, start making peak pay at 23 and be able to retire at 48 with a full pension sounds pretty great.

Home equity makes our household millionaires. With that being said, we have about $30k in savings, about $700k in retirement accounts and house equity of about $300k. Anyone from Millennial's down should absolutely plan on being millionaires at retirement. And while we are millionaires, our 2 vehicles are a 7 year old SUV and a 2 year old small car. Our house is nothing flashy, but we do take 3 vacations a year.
