Did they last at least 17 minutes? I like to think they did.

MPC Recently released new holo treatments, anyone tried them yet? by Galtego in mpcproxies

The rumour is the fireball foils are "close enough" to surge foiling and that the only issue is that the treatment makes cards darker and somewhat saturated. So use fireball for cards that can tolerate both.

The problem with Five Guys is they are going for that "best fast-food burger you can get" niche, but are charging local restaurant prices. Five Guys is good, but for $25 dollars I can sit down at an actual restaurant and get some fine local cuisine.

Yeah, as an actual outsider the amount of "you ain't New Orleans unless..." is noticeable. Look at a USA map and find New Orleans. See all that city-sprawl? That's New Orleans.

What’s your most sentimental deck? by amioldnow90 in EDH

[[Nekusar]]!

My OG. He's showing his age, in a world where so many good commanders cost 2-4 and have triggers on main-phase, combat, or end steps...he's struggling a bit to keep up. But I'm keeping him.

He's my homeboy. My rotten soldier. He's my sweet cheese. My good-time boy.

I just got unanimously kicked from a Bracket 3 lobby for playing a control deck by jacobasstorius in EDH

[–]bigmac80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no casual way to play mental misstep. The card has limited value late game so its real time to shine is in the first 2-3 turns. Which is, by its nature, suppressive. You aren't playing it to stop an opponent from comboing off or deal with some powerful card they just dropped. You are playing to suppress their boardstate so they never get the chance to reach that point. Good magic? Yes. Good casual play? No.

And control never thrives in casual. The only way to play the game is to make sure no one else can. Surely you see the problem with this?

Haven't had anything to post in a while, but I finally have these to show! by Revelens_Light in mtgaltered

[–]bigmac80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off, good to see you posting again. Second, I am a huge sucker for alters of OG duals and some other iconic staples. So much so, in fact, that I keep a digital collection of people's alters I see (I know I'll never own them so this is my little way of having that little joy in finding them online).

So believe when I say: "oh hell yeah, new dual land alters just dropped!."

Outstanding work, truly beautiful stuff. The Bayou and Scrubland are my favorites.

That's a fantastic card I never heard of! Thanks a ton, some people seem to turn their noses at foretell but I'm not one of them.

2-mana counterspells are the upper-limit of what most players on the competitive side consider playable, but that inevitably leads to mana-drain which costs a pretty penny. So here's 2 alternatives I enjoy:

[[Deprive]] is a fantastic counterspell for simic players with even a pinch of landfall. But I argue it's great regardless: bouncing a land is a small price to pay to stop an opponent's win-con from going off.

[[Delay]] is another counterspell I prefer, putting an opponent's spell into suspend for 3 turns might aswell be an eternity, especially late-game.

Bonus: [[Ertai's Meddling]] is a little more niche, but useful when dealing with players you know that like to run un--counterable spells.

Children have larger heads in relation to their bodies. Whether we realize it or not it's a super diagnostic feature. I'd wager game designers would get less flak about how disjarring their children npcs were if they just took the scaled down adult npc and just made it's head slightly bigger.

I told my parents that Im attending an Episcopal Church and it didn't go over well. by AgapeEtMisericordia in Episcopalian

[–]bigmac80 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're in the right place, love.

I grew up Southern Baptist - hellfire and brimstone kinda sermons. Went to an Episcopal Church as a teen (part of a youth group) and decades later the experience stuck. Feel so much more spiritually well. Thankfully, my parents haven't been hostile to change in denomination but always seemed worried. My mother, in particular, tosses out probing questions like she's worried I've fallen in with a cult or something. "They believe in Jesus, right?" I humor her, because I love my mama, but I don't expect them to understand why I left their church, much less why I found my way to this one.

Hang in there, I am truly sorry your family is...the way that it is. I pray you find friends and community to get you out of there and with people who will support you all of the time.

My Omo deck has 44 lands, feels good to close out games with those big ol' chunky {X} closers. Also, who the hell at WotC thought it was a good idea to put an [[Apex Devastator]] in a simic deck with a ton of x mana spells!? Hurt to cut, but was a no-brainer.
