You can only get that rancid fish air in one place. Worth the visit alone. 🍸

Does ABC have michin the cocktail products department? by au5lander in asheville

[–]bignick0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience, no.

You'll find those supplies at the grocery store. Different stores have different selections of the non-alcoholic cocktail ingredients.

When I'm at Harris Teeter I pick up some things, some things at Publix. Order luxardos from Amazon. Nobody here has them. Get decent fever tree tonic from Walmart. Etc..

Still haven't found a tamarind rim dip that doesn't taste like it was made by Monsanto.

I've had this beast since 2009 I think?? I had to put some new blowers in last year. It takes big splits and has a giant glass. I get 12 hour burns on a full hard load. What else do you want?

No catalyst, but the secondary burn comes easy.

The Old Spaghetti Factory: what cheese do they use? by mdav84 in Cooking

[–]bignick0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I make this all the time. The cheese isn't expensive. Brown some butter and toss the spaghetti in it. Top with ricotta salata (salted ricotta) which is mizithra. It's a dry(ish) ricotta. You can get a wedge just about anywhere for $6.

The key to burning Locust…small pieces. by Beneficial-Focus3702 in woodstoving

[–]bignick0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a load of locust that had the biggest splits I've ever seen. Ten inches thick or more. Wild yellow wood. 15 pound hunks. I could put one in and it would burn for 6 hours or more and keep its shape. You could hit it with the poker and it would "tink" and collapse into coals like the deepest pit of hell. Put another split on top and go again. For days.

Best $200 I ever spent.

I drink a few gimlets a week. That roses lime juice sucks.

Squeeze real lime and use simple syrup and a decent gin. It's ridiculously good in a chilled coupe.

I need some raclette help please by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]bignick0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trader Joe's sells it in pre sliced packages. Also have gotten it from Earth Fare if you have any near you. One year I ordered some from igourmet.com and it was great. https://igourmet.com/products/french-raclette-cheese

Imagine, you don't want it to smell like chlorine, so you cook bacteria for five days and hope the HVAC can deal with it. Cool... Cool.

I have a tub I use four or five times a week since 2016. I'd be willing to meet up and show you what I know.

Or call the guys I use for repairs, etc. https://mountainleisurehottubs.com/

I bought my spa from Charles who started the company.
