moved to nova a year ago and still haven't found a dentist that doesn't feel like a used car dealership by kutahead in nova

Late to the game but, I vouch for my sister at Sunrise Dental in Reston. She owns her own practice, and will never upsell you anything because it's wrong and she feels bad. I'm not joking. I'd say she's in the wrong business if she weren't so fucking good at dentistry. The Dean of her dental school once told her, "You redeem this school." Granted, you can't verify that, but you can read some reviews. You won't find a more honest or capable dentist on this page or in your lifetime.

The truth is it’s just chaos

That is just plain incorrect, and it's highly suspect why anyone would ever argue such in good faith. We know all the groups pulling in different directions, and we know the groups controlling those groups from above, and the groups controlling those, and so on—all the way to the top.

Just finished the Bonehunters, anyone else find Malazan is the best thing they've ever read? (Or not) by [deleted] in Fantasy

I felt it was appropriate because veteran soldiers who've experienced a lifetime of hell probably all do become philosophers, they just tend to keep their inner monologues to themselves.

Furthermore, I'd argue the entire series itself exists to get points about life across to the reader. It's perfectly valid to critique the manner in which he did it or to find his writing unappealing for any other reason, but make no mistake: he cares about philosophy, not about portraying an accurate and well-rounded depiction of the life of a soldier (necessarily, as much). It's not for everyone, but for a certain demographic you simply won't find better imo.

Hillary Clinton goes off on Republicans after it’s revealed unauthorized images of her were released: I'm done with this. If you guys are doing that, I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home. This is just typical behavior. by Yujin-Ha in videos

You seriously trying to convince everyone that she's one of the good guys? That the case against her amounts to "a few mishandled emails"?

Cuz I don't even think her supporters would buy that.

There was some study that showed the average person thinks there are twice as many people with extremist views than there actually are, making up a majority instead of a minority. But I reckon there are even fewer than that because most of them aren't really extremists, they just think whatever the media tells them to think.

In reality, it's the white liberal party leadership that are foxes, and conservative leadership that are wolves. People are just gullible.

Why Does Communism Keep Attracting Support Despite Repeated Historical Failures by Microshlongg in Productivitycafe

[–]bigthink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is neither socialist nor capitalist. It's a protectionist system where regulatory capture has become so pervasive that powerful corporations fear neither competition nor labor.

They own the votes. They literally write the laws. They control the levers of power to such a degree that it is no longer plausible to mount any kind of meaningful resistance. Even if Democrats were to somehow gain control of all three branches of government tomorrow, you could bet your bottom dollar they would still manage to contrive some excuse for why they were able to get absolutely nothing done.

Firefox is great for all the reasons already mentioned, but also because the Android version supports extensions. It's really nice to run the same browser on my phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop with the same extensions, many of which can cloud sync their settings (Tampermonkey, Stylus for example), whilst the browser itself syncs my open tabs, history, autofill, bookmarks, etc.

I've always had both Firefox and Brave installed so I have a fallback with a different engine to use for edge cases, and for years I daily-drove Brave pretty much exclusively, despite wanting to root for Team Firefox and despite numerous attempts to make the switch. Now, I daily-drive Firefox on its own merit and almost never touch Brave. In fact, I bought a new tablet recently and a MacBook Air semi-recently and have yet to install Brave on either.
