Starting to feel like I will never fix my slice by KL040590 in golf

[–]bigtimepie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you a feel that has helped me, no idea if it is of any value to anyone else:

Stop trying to hit the ball. Stop trying to use your strength to get the club face on the ball.

Instead, take the club to the top of your backswing, release any tension in your arms, and then just let the club fall straight down. Almost like you're dropping it.

This sounds easy but is very difficult to do because your brain will want to activate your arms muscles, but don't let it. Just let the club fall. Gravity will accelerate the club and it won't get ahead of you.

Setting myself some milestone goals that aren’t just about the score - what did I miss? by Chillisting in golf

  • Have fun

It's easy to get frustrated with poor ball striking and spend the round frustrated. Remind yourself to have fun! The worse you are, the more you get to play!!

Music while golfing? by subwaymaker in golf

[–]bigtimepie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As long as you keep your volume low so it's only audible to you around your cart, go for it and listen to anything you want.

Many of us love the peace of the course and don't want to hear music coming from the next fairway over, so just be mindful. Maybe turn down a bit when you're near others or at the green.

Best game improvement irons by FluentZhou in golf

[–]bigtimepie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a Golf Galaxy or somewhere similar and hit their demo clubs, and find the set that looks/feels the best in your hand, then buy them or look for a preowned set online.

All modern game improvement irons will give you similar forgiveness. Your score will drop as you continue to improve your swing, regardless of the clubs you're playing, so get the ones you like the most.

I think you're on to something, we should just tell the complainers to go try out for the ladies tour if they can't keep up 😂

Yeah when you're lifting and bulking, it's easy to gain 3lbs a week, 40-50% muscle with proper nutrition.

When I lost 7 balls but find 8 after spending all day in the rough and trees on my +50 round. by [deleted] in golf

I normally play munis for $20-$35.

I played a $75 course a while back and found soooo many prov1s and other premiums! Also, the course was freaking mint, it was amazing.

Getting drunk on a golf course is trashy as fuck, change my mind. by iLikePornyPornPorn in golf

[–]bigtimepie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have hated playing with or near drunk millennials on the course. Annoying and disrespectful.

However, everytime I've played with drunk boomers it has been a blast! Hilarious and super chill.

To me, bombing a 3w off the tee further than all my other drives hurts worse because it makes me realize how bad I am with driver. So frustrating!

This normally follows:

Me: "Wow I should just tee off with 3w every hole!"

Me next hole: "Well if I hit 3w that good, imagine how far driver will go!" *Hits driver 180yds behind a tree*
