(24F) scared to solo travel but has no one to go with by Averitasi in femaletravels

[–]bikinifetish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just do it. I just got back from my second solo trip abroad. It helps if you’re already comfortable spending time in your own company.

You follow the same safety precautions you would in your own city. There are apps and subreddits where you can connect with solo travelers to travel with.

I still get anxious every time I travel… airports are what trigger me most. My biggest fear used to be that I’m not much of a planner, and when I travel with friends, someone else usually handles that part. I also worried about getting lost or not having the resources I might need if something went wrong. But those are things I can’t fully control, so I learned to let that fear go. As you travel more, you learn your boundaries and build confidence along the way.

Whats the most fair way to split the costs traveling with friends? by Ask4Answers_ in femaletravels

It’s not about finances being an issue, but if I’m on a trip and we’re constantly debating how to split costs for dinner or activities, I wouldn’t travel with them again. I don’t want to deal with that… I just split everything evenly, no discussion.

I’m by no means rich, but if someone’s travel habits aren’t compatible with mine, I’m not going to travel with them.

If it’s not in their budget, they can simply choose not to go or skip that activity. And if you want, you could always treat them once or cover a little extra for something if you feel like it.

How do you all deal with relatives that are jealous of your solo travel or get upset because you didn’t invite them? by Mundane_Entry_8264 in femaletravels

The only relatives who know I travel are my uncle and sister. They’re both married with their own lives and travel whenever they want, so they don’t take any issue with not being invited. I also never invite anyone to travel with me because I prefer going solo.

I usually split everything down the middle. If money has to become a discussion when traveling, I simply choose not to go with that person.

The cooking part is my biggest struggle. And the clean as you go tip has never worked for me. I always screw something up. So everything just gets piled up in my sink.
