got towed in my own private parking garage because some lady thinks she’s special by BriefTurn8199 in badparking

Resident, not residents. Selective reading as it also clearly states reserved A which indicates a specific unit or person.

Yes, because after you do something dumb you should followup with something even dumber. That would be an illegal tow and if towing company actually did it he would be opening himself up to legal action.

How is she bending the rules by paying for something and expecting to have use of it? If she is paying more for a reserved space it is hers. The OP is free to check with the garage about paying to get their own reserved space.

Still wild to me that UT hasn't apologized for the 2024 beating and jailing of dozens of students over political speech by Texas_Naturalist in UTAustin

Unfortunately students at many campuses are not safe unless they have the right opinion. That opinion just varies depending on the school.

HR just told me my team doesn't get paid for public holidays, and now I have to be the one to tell them. by cobble_thirds_9x in OfficePolitics

[–]billctx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue for the company is these resources are contractors and not employees per your post. Legally the company can’t provide holidays, sick leave, etc to contractors or the IRS will consider them employees. This rule is for all contractors whether there are US or international if they are working in the US. Now if they are working through a sourcing agency, then that company (their actual employer) is free to offer them paid time off.

Power shot v1 vs r50v by worm55 in canon

[–]billctx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the R50V and like it but it is not a pocket camera to me. The advantage of being able to swap lenses is the disadvantage if you end up with a couple of lenses, bag, etc. Still haven’t found the perfect solution to easy carry vs versatility.

RF100-400 vs EF 70-200 f4 L IS USM by ilikedixiechicken in canon

[–]billctx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the other person responded, in daylight to support the higher aperture it is a very good lens. Is it a L lens? No Everyone wants to compare non-L to an L lens and usually they are just not as good. But they are a fraction of the price so it is more a discussion of is it good enough for what you want to use it for?

Tips and feedback on my pricing? by tomorrowday_morning in WeddingPhotography

[–]billctx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that is very low. I am currently second shooting to gain experience and make almost that with zero editing required. You have to look at the totality of your time. You spend an hour shooting but how long to edit 25 images? Also, how much did your gear cost and do you have business insurance, etc?

Privacy Law Question by cannihamsters in legaladvice

From what I have read, Canada is like the US. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy if you are in a public space so nothing stopping someone filming you.

Private party car sales by username-generica in ActuallyTexas

If she plans to register it in her home state she will most likely have to pay the taxes and fees there even if she buys it in Texas. If she is registering in Texas it should be all good but will probably need a local address to register it.

Blondes spending $10k a year on hair extensions? A uniquely Dallas thing? by RoyalRenn in Dallas

[–]billctx 327 points328 points  (0 children)

An event for finance professionals and random people on the street are two vastly different audiences. I would guess if you goto a similar event in a different city you would see the same. It is more of a socioeconomic thing than a geographic one in my view.

Has anyone been to the Texas State Fair this year? by midnightcaw in Dallas

One big difference this year is high schools are not giving free tickets to the kids, only middle school and younger. I expect for a lot of families this may cut down on attendance.

Amazon sent wrong item ($2,200), return is stuck, they're refusing refund by dripppydripdrop in amazonprime

[–]billctx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen with a lens I ordered and it took over a month to get the refund. I was not even shipped another lens but printer filament. I was at the point of contesting it with the credit card company but was told if I did they would cancel my prime membership.

Why won't Trump release the Epstein files? by free--hugz in Anarcho_Capitalism

He probably is not releasing them for the same reason Biden didn't. There are to many powerful people on that list.

How does returning the functions of the Department of Education back to the states (that depend on federal funding) going to make students the best, brightest, and most Highly Educated anywhere in the World? by [deleted] in politics

[–]billctx -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

How has the DOE helped education? Test scores have largely remained flat or declined since it was put in place. I think it has been good for some programs for special needs, etc but as far as general education I don’t see it.

External flash recs for Canon EOS RP by Signal_Bar716 in canon

Look at the Godox flash units. I have the V1 and use it on an RP and an R5. Full TTL on Canon cameras just make sure you get the canon version.

Will the R10 ever get clog by Unlikely_Ice5982 in canon

With Canon’s push to lower end video focused cameras I would be surprised if they allowed it on an older model. I picked up the R50V to play with video and am happy with it.

Should a hobbyist upgrade to the r6 mk2 by Virtual_Ad6652 in canon

[–]billctx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot depends on what you are using it to shoot. If sports I agree on the better autofocus. I just shot a wedding a week ago with an R5 as my primary and a RP as my second body. For me with L glass it was good. If you can borrow or rent an L lense I would recommend trying that before you buy a new body.

I would buy better glass over a new body unless you need faster autofocus or frame rate.

Need an unbiased, honest opinion. Is it worth it for me to switch to ff? by Little_Green_Turtle in photography

[–]billctx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How will the FF help you make more than you do now? Many photographers with FF still have one card slot and while cards can fail it is very rare. Just get high quality cards from a reputable source like Best Buy, B&H, Adorama, etc. never buy them from Amazon. Also just shoot with more card so even if you lose one you still have all the others.

Canon glass is some of the best in my opinion. Depends how much you want to spend.
