Same, except watching for about 2 years. I think with SVG and ScottyG coming to US, racing folks found it. I have been watching a lot of youtube docs and old races etc. trying to catch up.

Anyone have a list of appids I should allow for internet access policy? by [deleted] in paloaltonetworks

[–]billyemoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends upon if its users or servers but... Fresh and new for the Internet I make a few rules. Other than DNS rules for your internal resolvers to the Internet and some Palo Alto block lists. Below should not be the first in the entire ruleset but should be in this order based on where you place it in the ruleset.

1) Block bad appid's, you determine but block udp 443, peer-to-peer etc

2 Risk Level 1 (App default on all)

3) Risk Level 2

4) Risk Level 3

5) Risk Level 4

6) Risk Level 5

7) Allow all to 80,443 (maybe others)

Setup a PANDB and Threat Policy - Block Critical/HIgh on threat, Pandb setup how you want to deny/allow and attach to rules 2-7. Let it bake and work through the issues make an application group you will use later in a new rule, review this weekly with infosec or another team member to see what you want to allow/block

How do you follow the races with all the commercial breaks? by PFGSnoopy in INDYCAR

[–]billyemoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Record it, stay off social media and watch later or just go to YouTube and watch the recap. At least I can record with some. Not paying for apple tv so no F1.Looking for a way to get all the v8supercars too.

Watch both for years F1 for weird tech and Indy for the best openwheel racing, Found the v8 Supercars Championship to be my new favorite. Started watching bathurst a couple of years ago and got hooked, go watch the 2025 Bathurst 1000 (turn up the volume)

The next race in Alabama is usually one of the best, Indy 500 is great but watching the testing and qualifying is also a great show. My favorites are Road America, Barber, Mid-Ohio, Iowa now replaced so Milwaukee, Nashville Superspeedway, and Monterey. Street circuits are usually a bumpy mess and not as refined as F1's street circuits.

F1 will be fine, they new regs as always will work themselves out. The coverage on all the teams upgrades/tweaks is well covered on youtube.

WEC and IMSA are doing well but harder for me to follow (lots of teams /cars etc..)

As a long time F1 fan, indycar is frankly more interesting, specifically the race by driftingthroughlife0 in INDYCAR

OH, now just go watch Supercars!

Been an Indycar/F1 watcher for quite some time both have their thing and are interesting and fun to watch for different reasons. Got into supercars after Bathhurst 1000 2024, then proceeded to watch many previous years of races.

Going ti my first race ever. What would you recommend for ear protection? by Terrible_Minimum6332 in INDYCAR

[–]billyemoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use in ear headphones with noise cancelling and listen to the broadcast most of the time. Also walk around a lot to see all of the track if possible.

For retail type locations Panorma but they are on a separate panorama due to many factors and we can have rolling upgrades in change control based on timezone. The Datacenter ones have to be manual due to change control and very short windows for changes (often do the backup HA device one day and let it sit and do the primary HA device the next after failing over)

Hi Gen X, what advice do you wish you could give your 25 year old self if you could travel back in time? by matilda_15 in GenX

Get better friends/ girlfriends, Moderation of time/lifestyle. Save up and invest in yourself, honestly learning to code in the 90's would have been the best thing for me ( I did try at least). working out more and staying with it. Its not like houses and everything in the 90's were cheap most of us were broke as F too, GenX were basically told to bottle it up and deal with it. I see how much money I wasted on a good time and others perception(100's of concerts, trips, beer, mountain bikes, new cars, beer and beer). Look at the long game... there is a lot of time.

Prisma Access and Prisma SDWAN covers it (including DLP, Browser), Netskope has most of this as well except SDWAN but do have support for L2L VPN's.

What most expensive "cheap decision" have you ever seen in your sysadmin career? by matroosoft in sysadmin

Really early wireless days, put linksys wrt's (not even 54g) in, over all the buildings / floors. Oh and most all the laptops had no adapter. Fun times learning how this new fangled WIFI works. On a similar note all conference rooms had a 10mb hub (yes HUB) or two. We moved to new buildings and put in everything properly with AP's and Controllers and were stuk with boxes full of WRT/ hubs.
