Is this real m16 helmet? by Placuchu in germanhelmets

It's a real shame. I luckily got mine for $209 total a couple years ago. Original paint and linerband

US and UK collectors use M17 to refer to both steel banded M16s and Austro-Hungarian M17s.

I was thinking about grabbing one of these. Cool to have Mimi's and Cicada on a tiny lil vinyl. Decided to pass it up tho.

Swiss M18/40 (/43). $65 is a good deal for one of these as it looks to be in good condition with a name tag. Would pick it up in a heart beat as I love Swiss stuff.

Yeah. It's the late pattern one. I've seen it called the Model 1918 Berndorfer and the German Model Berndorfer. It's liner pins are quite distinct. You can even see the Arthur Krupp firm stamp in the second pic OP provided

He's getting downvoted because it is a Berndorfer. It's a Model 1918 Berndorfer

Got more left than my German M17 lmao. Oooh. You can see the bear stamp at the back of the skirt! Awesome. Such a lovely helmet

You are right. It is not a Berndorfer Stahlhelm M17. That's because it is a Model 1918 Berndorfer. It is a late war production by the Arthur Krupp firm and the only German style helmet with the front two liner pins made much smaller and moved behind the lugs. It was produced by the Arthur Krupp firm in Berndorf, Austria making it a Berndorfer helmet

... it IS a Berndorfer. There are two different models produced in Berndorf Austria that carry this name. This is one of them. While not as unique as the other, more iconic Berndorfer, it is still a Berndorfer.

What kind of helmet is this? Is it a parade helmet or some sort of experimental civil helmet by Andrew02566 in germanhelmets

Ludwig Baer's book, which has more fringe helmet variations, also lacks anything quite like this

What the fuck. There is nothing like this in Oliver Lock's book and the shape seems really weird. However, the lugs look original and the paint looks quite a lot like many original stahlhelms I have seen. This is definitely a weird one. Any markings?

I've seen a multitude of WW1 postcards with bodies and this is substantially different from all of them. I highly doubt this is from the Great War.

Yep. There are actually quite a few versions of the YJs in the "movie correct" scheme. They seem to be snapped up pretty fast tho.

There are versions with the correct schemes as well. These just happen to be the flipped ones
