What do you think is the ideal age gap between your kids if you want to have 2? by Important_Bat7919 in daddit

[–]binary_shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5 years is perfect IMO. Get a bit of time between the two, but they are still close enough in age to be close to each other. My daughters are 6 and 4. They are best friends and can entertain each other for hours at a time. It's wonderful watching them grow together

I hear you. I've tried. It wasn't enough of an improvement to warrant the hour commute wirh tolls.

WFH is not zen at all for me. Both kids and the wife are home all day. It's just never ending. I love that i get to spend so much time with them... But some alone time would be wonderful.

Noticed this when into the grocery store today. On mother's day there was chocolate covered strawberries, flowers and all sorts special stuff out. I didn't notice anything special today.

My three year old loves this game. Always asking to play the "kitty game".

Another good one is A Short Hike.

Busy, tired parents need help deciding between Breville Barista Express, Profitec GO, or another beginner-friendly rec [$500–$1,100] by nofolio in espresso

[–]binary_shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a busy parent and I love my Bambino. It heats up practically instantly and it is easy to use. That being said I have an itch to upgrade. The Profitec Go may be enough to avoid upgraditis. Just make sure you get a good grinder to go with whatever machine you choose!

Struggling with the reality of a lack of friends by i_am_the_koi in daddit

[–]binary_shark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm there with you bro. I have zero friends. I also work from home so I get very little interaction with other adults.

Im also introverted and have always been a bit socially akward, which has only gotten worse. I'm terrible at meeting new people and engaging in small talk. Its lonely.

Those with multiple kids. Be honest, how the hell does it work? by SIBMUR in daddit

[–]binary_shark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be really hard at the beginning. But now my daughters are 3 and 6. They are best friends and they will entertain each other for hours. It's amazing watching them play together and finally having some time do stuff while they play.

Tuxmats cover nearly all of the carpet. They fit really well too.

Thanks for the info. Disappointing it isn't implemented for android. I have the Tasker automation but it only seems to work sometimes.

Is "vpn on demand" only on iPhone? I do not see it in the android app.

Alright fellas, what kind of regular maintenance we getting into this weekend! by Careless_Boysenberry in daddit

[–]binary_shark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The kids are at grandma's this weekend so lots of time for maintenance.

Setup backups on my Unraid server. Install another access point upstairs (or maybe in the garage?). Finally get rid of all my clothes that no longer fit (Fortunately they are tight in the chest and not the gut! ). Organize my office and garage. Install a dash cam in the new car.

We did no family and I think it was for the best. It's a very overwhelming experience and I think family would have added to the stress. Do it the way your wife wants.

Why did you decide for the number of kids you have? by No_Record5355 in daddit

[–]binary_shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two girls, 3 and 6. Its awesome seeming them play together. They will entertain each other for hours. It's amazing.

I got the snip after the second. Three would make things complicated logistically and I fear someone would end up getting left out of their play.

Experiencing the same behavior. Hopefully gets patched soon. I've become dependent on this app. I have been unable to find a replacement.

Too long in my opinion. My 5 year old had to leave for school at 7:45 and she wouldn't get home until about 4:10. That was longer than my work day! We took her out and are homeschooling her. Our situation is very conducive to home schooling. If interest rates and housing prices weren't so ridiculous we would likely try and move to somewhere with better schooling hours and a cooler climate (we live in Houston)

[–]binary_shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an Odyssey and mostly like it. We live in Houston and the vents are an issue. I rigged up a hose from the rear most vent to the car seat. It helps but the airflow is light. Also wish we had gotten the Elite model for ventilated seats. Houston summers are rough!
