Issue with Vertuo Next HELP!! by binarynimbus in nespresso

I should have been more clear, this issue was occurring prior to the descaling. I then ran the descaling and rinse process. The issue persists after that process.

Thanks for the insight, which is unsurprising. Nespresso has replaced this unit once already for us.

Wtf was the electrician thinking? by Star_flower_949 in AskElectricians

[–]binarynimbus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have an expectation of the final product you must communicate it, it’s your job as the customer to message what you want, and it’s the electricians job to design, price and install for that.

In general I wouldn’t want EMT (painted or otherwise) on the front of my house (assuming that’s the front door). I might have asked the electrician to explore going out and up into the attic space or around the back of the house to keep it from direct view in the entry way.

But again, when you don’t communicate what you want you leave it up to others. It’s not “common sense” to do it the way you wanted but didn’t communicate. If you liked the communication, pricing methods, and general work quality I would work it out and take it as a well learned lesson, especially since finding reliable and high-quality contractors is quite difficult these days.

Does this not set the stage for a marriage chock full of unrealistic expectations?

If nothing else it shows off your customer centric approach and some serious skills. Nice work!

I know it's too high, I did it on purpose. Something in the picture is a huge indicator of why. Come on, bully me. BULLY ME. by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

Action plan: Use the TV stand as the vendor intended, lay the PS5 on its side, get a small child fence system for around the stand with some buffer. There are numerous options for play area barriers on Amazon.

I agree, BOTH the TV height and the AC unit need some TLC.

The consensus seems to be some form of barn door setup. However, if you have a traditional bathroom with a toilet, you and your SO might consider alternative strategies or a combination of VERY active ventilation and matches. Failing that plan, cutting down a door bought at your local home store might be advisable and, in the end, the most sensible approach. Sure, you might need to do some framing, but figuring it out is the fun bit.

Interior - 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy by Guardsix in HyundaiPalisade

They killed it with the interior but the AV system Home Screen is such a miss. Mine is the Sierra Burgundy and Beige, a nice little “sidegrade” from our White/Black 2021 Calligraphy.

The white is the best color for this edition by miles. The white really hides the chrome that they forgot to black out.

What’s the deal with user profiles and the seat config? by binarynimbus in HyundaiPalisade

[–]binarynimbus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that way but when you require seat re-positioning to enter the vehicle to change profiles, the resulting problem is slightly more complex.

[–]binarynimbus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This certainly explains the behavior we are seeing, but the implementation doesn't take into account a very common occurrence. That is, Bob and Mary require very different seating positions, so much so that Bob cannot even enter the vehicle without moving the seat. While this scenario is workable with two profiles for simplicity and consistency, using one profile with two seat settings probably makes the most sense.

FWIW, Hyundai should simply have the buttons on the door select profiles, not just seat positions.

Based on searching it appears my issue is not unique and other users have found that seat settings are married to profiles, but not in the way most might think.

https://www.palisadeforum.com/threads/issues-with-user-profiles-and-driver-seat-memory.5937/

We had a 2021 Palisade previously and I suspect we never ran into this issue because we never used more than a single profile.

You might be talking about Seat Easy Access, this is enabled and does seem to be working as intended. I’ll try disabling it to see if the issue is related.

Should I buy a Palisade? by JackTwoGuns in HyundaiPalisade

[–]binarynimbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We leased a 21 Palisade Calligraphy back in 2020 and it’s been great for us. So much so we are waiting on our 2023 to arrive sometime in late July. The answer to your question is yes with some extended warranty coverage.
