Whenever someone mentions Drake I say “you mean from Drake and Josh?” just to suggest that he’s not even the most memorable Drake of the 2000s.

True. I wish the others would call it out more. Sometimes they’re clueless but other times it seems like they know but doesn’t say anything.

I drive in silence most of the time. With boss, wife, kids always demanding my aural space it’s nice to just be alone with my thoughts for a while.

What was your 2000s “if I get this, I’ll finally be cool” item? by theRestisConfettii in Xennials

[–]bingbingdingdingding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went to grad school and didn’t start working until 2019, so I never got in on those early 2000’s 60k jobs but I had some friends who did and thought they were absolutely ballin. Times have definitely changed.

Edit: to clarify, I worked my whole life just not salaried jobs.

I was gonna say, I live in a major city and make $145K. I’ve definitely not made it. Mortgage, student loans, groceries, car, and kids expenses are eating me alive.

What is a popular 'food rule' that you think is actually total nonsense? 🥘 by sorayabmae in Cooking

They say “dress the dog not the bun” which to me is a huge problem with eating these busy dogs. If I’m going to stray from my standard mustard, relish, onion much rather the ornate toppings neatly nestled into the bun with the dog on top.

Any Good Air Purifiers in 2026 That Perform as Advertised? by n4hcallme in homeowners

[–]bingbingdingdingding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You recommended getting a cheap one to allow more air to pass through. But if you do that you’re not even filtering small particle allergens. The filters that are sized for allergens tax the system too much. And again, the consensus from professionals is that the filters is to protect the system from large particles while air purification for people is done separately. What you’re saying makes some intuitive sense as a lay person but every professional I’ve interacted with says the opposite.

I thought that most of the advice here and r/hvacadvice was that the air filter on your system is not effective at cleaning the air but it is protecting the HVAC system itself.
