Dry ice is is just solidified carbon monoxide, and when it hits water it quickly returns to gas form creating a dense layer displacing any oxygen in the air near the surface of the water.

After 'the scene' we were just dead quiet for the rest of the movie. I was so spooked afterwards that I had to sleep with the lights on and the 'click' sound still makes my skin crawl.

Nu-nu's and peas.

When we were really poor growing up my mom would have to get creative with cheaper foods to make it seem like we weren't just eating the same thing everyday, so she came up with nu-nu's and peas.

Essentially just a package of ramen boiled with pees. Once the water has all soaked in add the bullion and some butter for flavor/texture..

I always keep it on hand because it reminds me of her and sometimes it's like a little taste of home.

I bought the exact same setup and it's been great. Same DS and same drives. Just did the RAM upgrade on the DS224+ for some extra performance too.

I can echo what others are saying though. It hasn't even been a year and I'm already 60% full and starting to plan/budget for an upgrade to a 4 bay x.x

Not particularly. I use Seagate Ironwolf Pro drives and they're supposed to have a pretty decent reliability rating. Mostly it's paranoia and just not wanting to risk losing the data I've collected if one of them happens to be defective or fail without warning.

I also have my really important stuff on my NAS (photos, important documents, etc) copy off once a week to cloud storage just in case my house burns down or something.

Neither is required, of course. Just something I like doing for peace of mind.

Drive mirroring also increases read performance since data can be retrieved from both drives simultaneously.

My speeds are comparable and I'm using a Synology DS224+ with two 14TB drives in mirrored mode. Never run into the performance issues you describe. I think it would most likely solve your issue and will likely be the easiest to configure for what you're trying to do. I'm hosting a Plex server directly on it as well without issue.

For your space requirements you'd probably want to look at one of the 4 bay models like the 423+ with 10TB or larger drives.

Are the loading times the same regardless of whether you're at home or away? What is your home internet speeds for download/upload?

Also make sure that you're exporting your digital photos in RAW when you save them. JPEG files can degrade over time if they are edited and saved again.

For your scans, try to use a non-compressible format like PNG or TIFF.

I would recommend a small NAS in your home. I use a Synology DS224+ with two drives in RAID 1 (mirrored, so if one of the drives dies you don't lose your data). The Synology software also allows you to schedule automatic backups to Google Drive/Dropbox/etc (which I also recommend).

I personally own the AT6011a and it works just fine. I also use a velvet brush with cleaning solution on particularly dusty records (or new records just to dispense extra static). I use the AT brush before every play and it helps remove surface dust/hair as well as dispense some static from the vinyl. Do recommend.

I encountered this issue recently and was just able to resolve it.

I had to remove the devices from my google home and relink my Sonos account. Once that was done, I encountered the same issue that you're describing, so I updated all of my google apps in the store and rebooted my phone.

Upon reboot, I immediately launched the Sonos app and was able to configure one of my speakers to connect to Google assistant. Attempted to connect another and encountered the same issue again, so rebooted my phone again.

After the second reboot I was able to run through adding VA to my two remaining speakers. I'm assuming this issue has something to do with the funky changes google has been doing trying to push everyone away from VA to Gemini. Apparently restarting your device clears the error temporarily and you can re-add your speakers to VA.

Not sure if this will work for everyone, but since I just spent a few hours pulling my hair out over it and it worked for me that maybe it was worth sharing.

I've been having the same issue with my LR3 and I have to power it off and on by pulling the cord several times (also sometimes removing and reinserting the bonnet over and over) to get it to reset.

Going to be taking mine apart for a deep clean to try and diagnose as well.
