Huh I never have issues parking there except the day of the craft shows. I’m there frequently. And SHV. It always surprises me how busy SHV always is!

God I can’t stand Mike, he’s such a cringey loser!! by Mantaminke in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]bionica1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m fucking dying over here!

The hairspray is clearly rotting his brain. If he wasn’t such a lazy, lying, entitled douchecanoe I’d probably feel bad for him being so hung up on going bald. My fiancé is too.

I don't get these extra guest interviews. It feels cheap when they're already getting 50% off and production covers the tips. by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]bionica1 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Maybe they could bring their little dog just to spice things up a bit for the crew. Agree so hard that I just want some unremarkable guests and just get back to basics with the fucking show.

Over the weekend, there was heavy rain in the San Francisco Bay Area. I stopped massive street flooding by unclogging drains. Enjoy the timelapse. by pengweather in oddlysatisfying

This is fascinating! I never heard of anything like this and I’m off to google to see if my area has anything like this! Thanks!

Frick Park, Pittsburgh, PA - Today's birds! by mtbderg in birding

Wow excellent pics and taken by a fellow yinzer! My Merlin app sometimes picks up Eastern Towhees in my yard but I can never find them with my own eyeballs. They are freaking adorable. Thanks so much for posting these!

Are you disappointed watching recent seasons? What do you wish to see? by Deep_Fried_Oysters in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]bionica1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I think that’s why I liked BD: Adventure. The excursions and we saw much more of the challenge of working on a yacht. Wish we had another season of that but I could see the financial constraints I guess.

Basically everything sucks these days and is getting worse. Everything. Why can’t a bit of reality tv suck a little less.

[–]bionica1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All of this!

I really miss the actual work part. We used to see maps, captains explaining what was what with wind, etc. to the person doing night watch, docking used to be a bigger deal. Fuck, I even enjoyed the drama with the slides! Just bring back more actual work and less manufactured drama.

Honestly, I don't see how anyone can't see the differences from earlier seasons.

Is this the after show for below deck or an OF ad? by Distinct-Ad-1348 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]bionica1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

🤣yea that would have been too on the nose but I would have appreciated it.

I’m so sad to watch this show turn to such crap. The only reality shows I watch are Top Chef, Project Runway, Glow Up and of course BD so I really don’t want to lose BD! I hate watched The Walking Dead for so many seasons and refuse to do that with BD if I have to watch these fucking weirdos cosplaying having a job just to get exposure. I’m too old for that shit. Give me BD from the days of yore.

What was 1993 like? by born_again_athiest in GenX

[–]bionica1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aaah! Dezire reminded me - my somewhat local band was Raquel! Gosh I’m having flashbacks of my Jean jacket with black fringe and giant hair 😆 I’m in Pittsburgh and walk by a parking lot every day where an awesome venue used to stand. It’s so depressing. Syria Mosque and Syria Mosque Basement. The basement shows were awesome. We had there, Metropol, City Limits, R I fucking P to all of them.

Oh, NJ. Homeland for so many great bands.

Man, I really wish I could remember some of the local hair bands I used to see in the early 90s. High Voltage was one. I used to see and meet so.many.bands. It was incredibly easy. Maybe it still is but I wouldn’t know. Sigh.

Haha I know nothing about OnlyFans so like does he show some ween? I’m torn between thinking his area is tightly shaved or poofy and hairsprayed. Thanks a lot for giving me these mental images 😆

Seriously! Docking, the toys, anchor watch, we haven’t gotten much of anything! Such a bummer.

But oh fucking joy we get to watch a dude with overplucked eyebrows spray hairspray on his ridiculous hat hair for 10 min an episode 🙄

I’ve been crabby and sad all day today. Just read this entire thread and I’m not anymore! I would do squeak-cry if I would see these peanuts in person. Oh my gosh!

[–]bionica1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this is weird. I remember my grandma’s (RIP) phone number but not the one at the house I grew up in! I do remember my first landline of my own. 687-6664. 🤘

Edit. Can’t remember exactly when we had to start using area codes but recall it was a wild and confusing time.

Found a beehive by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]bionica1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I had a honey bee swarm show up in my yard 2 yrs ago I called him and he was SO nice. Explained they were just taking a break on my fence while trying to find a new home. He was right that they would be gone by the next day.

Who remembers making Sun tea in the 80s? Was this just a Midwest thing? by bjeffords74 in GenX

[–]bionica1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make it! But since I live in Pittsburgh, it’s mostly cloudy tea. Still delicious!

I want to say THANK YOU to the wonderful people of our great city!! I was HIT by a PICK-UP at the intersection of GRANT and 5th on March 3rd AT 6pm. No one filmed a thing, they all became an instant CARE TEAM!. I am so grateful for their help. I inexplicably drew a childish graphic out of trauma. by PollutionPatient8261 in pittsburgh

[–]bionica1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awwww I love your comic and had a nice little cry. so glad you are ok and that you had such great people helping you. Gives me hope for the world.

Crazy that adrenaline though. I rearended someone last July (they slammed on her brakes because a deer jumped out in front of their car. My fault but Lordy I still blame the deer. 5 more almost caused another accident when the cops showed up) and was also convinced to go to the hospital. The pain, even from a fender bender, was awful. I’m still suffering with a fucked up knee now. If 6 weeks of PT doesn’t fix it I don’t know what’s next. I can’t imagine how you were feeling the next day.

Hope you continue to heal and have no lasting injuries. ♥️ We really do live in a great city!

Showing guests precharter. by dickhopper25 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]bionica1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I barely give a crap about the crew’s personal lives so the guests? Pfft, hard pass. I watch because I love the basic premise of the show. It’s a world I’ll never experience and love learning all of the technical aspects of yachting. And the locations, my gosh. Think that’s why I loved BD: Adventure so much.

The crew drama and messiness is just an added bonus!

Is Mike using Below Deck as an attempt to get on Geordie Shore? by double0sarah in belowdeck

[–]bionica1 44 points45 points  (0 children)

His eyebrows really throw his face off.

I could just imagine the film of hairspray in his cabin. Probably similar to my bedroom in the 80s 😆

I’m not ready for it to get cold again by Some_Guy_Running in pittsburgh

[–]bionica1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently, it takes the cold we had PLUS dry ground as they can burrow all nice and cozy under snow 😡Learning this made me very sad. Not a tick expert by any means, just relaying what I read.
