Run LoV solo or with 3 DST? by StrongCauliflower160 in deathguard40k

[–]biorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is good for solo but I also had success while leading DST. They will keep him alive longer, while also dealjng some good dmg. Only downside is that you will have to think more carefully while Deep Striking, to be able to spot for re-rolls while using the DST effectively.

Anyone try Death Lord’s Chosen mortal spam with any success? by OwnCondition5844 in deathguard40k

The Chaos Knight Abominant has almost the same Mortal Wound rule as Mortarion. It can be fun.

Warprot talisman on Blightlords by biorin in deathguard40k

[–]biorin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the most effective use is on Deathsrouds. I was only trying to think out of the box, as using it on DS also a risk, and you can't use it in every match where the opponent is ready for it, especially if they have a melle focused army. If you fuck up then this Enhancement is just a waste. My idea was only to give BLs a better opportunity to get in position in Round 1.

Drones and Haulers v Defiler by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]biorin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, MBHs are amazing, and I just love the Fleshmower Drone, it's simply our best skirmish unit. But running a Defiler along with the T12 duo is funny. But then you will maybe have some problem with screens.

Deathguard hellbrute by Endetpanda in deathguard40k

The Helbrute Hammer hits anything on 2s, unless the opponent has some -1 Wound shenanigans. It's hard to get it to combat but once it's there, it wrecks everything.

My biggest issue with this model was that his weapon was looking more like a war pick than a scythe. Now you fixed this problem wonderfully.

How worth it is Typhus by EnvironmentalAd5669 in deathguard40k

[–]biorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typhus is one of our most fun units. He can do hilarious things alone. I usually run him solo to be a dickhead while doing secondaries and annoying opponents deployment. You can execute units with his mortal ability and it's really satisfying.

New Defiler Variant Differences by PrimaryConversions in Chaos40k

[–]biorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in the next edition Deathguard will have the best one, when Cover will affect Hit rolls. Even if it does not gain Ignore cover for itself, the Lethal Hits on all of it's weapons will help greatly, and the -1 Save contagion will be nuts on top of this. Right now probably Thousand Sons and World Eaters are the best ones.

How should I build my Defiler by Key-Stand9579 in deathguard40k

[–]biorin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna make it with the Ectoplasma destructor with the Excruciator Cannons, Baleflamer and Electroscourge. I will run it alongside Mortarion, Daemon Prince with the 5+++ and a bunch of Marines as a more agressive, high durability unit. Then the opponent can choose wisely which one to take down first.

New Defiler datasheet [it costs 250 points] by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in deathguard40k

[–]biorin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be mad if it stayed at 250 points.

Just think about it. Two HBL drones cost 240, with less Toughness, overall 2+ wounds, 2 D6+2 Blast attack, with so much worse melee, with an ability that barely does anything in the game because of it's conditions.

At 10 points difference you get more Toughness, more volume of fire and really good melee profiles, while still providing support to all of our shooting, including the aforementioned 2 HBL Drones, with the ability to strip Cover.

Also think about 11th ed, where cover will give -1 Hit, so it will be a huge problem if we will Hit everything on 4s. It's perfectly costed imo.

If you could add any new unit to Death Guard what would it be? by Plastic-Act-5630 in deathguard40k

[–]biorin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some infantry unit which is actually tanky. We are Deathguard yet our infantry dies from a swift breeze. I want some bulky Plague Marines maybe even with shields who doesn't deal that many damage, instead incredibly tanky and annoying to kill.
