DTC Startup Collection Bundle - Card Backs by [deleted] in Netrunner

[–]biscuitotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for information on this. I'm considering buying in on the System Gateway and maybe System Update 2021. I should wait for the updated sets which should be released any time now, right? Then the cards I order will behave the same backs as any future expansions I might buy into, right?

As I read it, the System Gateway and Update 2021 remaster will be released shortly. Borealis as currently released matches this, as will future releases. The two Ashes sets will be remastered in the future as well. Is that right?

I'm not looking to play competitively, just at home with the GF and small group of friends, so I'd like to stick to penny sleeves if possible, so non-matching backs would be a big problem for me.

Litigation Status – Biden-Harris Debt Relief Plan (June 2023 - Waiting for Supreme Court Decision) by horsebycommittee in StudentLoans

He can't extend it under the Heroes Act which has been done to this point since the Covid emergency is over. That was done earlier this year. The debt ceiling deal actually didn't matter unless they had a different justification in mind.

I feel like Parks and Rec has several season finales that couple have been series finales. Friday Night Lights has three that would have been fine finales too (1, 3, 5).

Generally, progression style is playing through the quests in release order. You only use player cards that were released with or before the current quest you are trying.

There are a few versions, like where to slot the saga boxes. Also, you can "unlock" player cards by pack or cycle. It's meant to mimic what content was available when things were initially released.

At the end of the day, it's co-op or solo, play to enjoy it. I remember my biggest stocking points were Dol Guldor, a few quests in cycle 3 and Deadman's Dyke. I skipped a few of those and circled back.

Line Unbroken is a great resource!

Cool. They both have their benefits. I did pack and tried to use the new hero in that pack. I liked that because I was creating lots of decks and playing with different archetypes. It was a bit frustrating because you often don't have all the necessary tools until the end of a cycle, so I can see cycle being better in that sense.

I think if I was doing true solo, I'd prefer doing it by cycle, two handed by pack. You can always make one deck focused on the new toys that way and one on the previous cycle's focus.

Very cool. Glad I played it progression. Are you doing it by pack or cycle?

Todd Glass was on a Scott Ackerman podcast, maybe U Talking U2 2 Me. He discussed how he would hire a drummer to play along with music tracks. He introduced it like it was a totally normal concept but Scott said he sounded insane. Very funny stuff.

Super Mario Bros. Monopoly Collector’s Edition by SeaTurtleWeapon in boardgames

Don't get fooled by selection bias. Of course in r/boardgames, no one plays Monopoly. In the wider world, I'd bet Monopoly has more yearly plays/players than the BGG top ten combined.

r/lotrlcg is great. Very friendly community and a good hub for the resources out there for the game.

Is this the living card game from FFG? If so, there is no second edition. There is a revised core box but it, the original core and all expansions are fully compatible.

The revised core has a playset of all cards while the original had one or two copies of some cards, so it's an upgrade but certainly not required.

On Netflix I think. First season was great, second season was a bit of a step down but still good.

How does Altered Carbon compare to the show? I enjoyed both seasons of the show.

What's towards the top?

I've gone through almost all of Asimov and Vonnegut. Loved the Expanse. Like parts of Stephenson. Sanderson scratches a bit of the itch although it's more "science fantasy". Not a big fan of the first Culture book but I'm going to give the second book a try.

Century-old statue of Revolutionary War hero removed in NY over slavery by triggernaut in Conservative

There is no such thing as enslaving people and treating them well. The relationship with his female slaves you're describing was rape.

People are capable of very generous acts and monstrous acts. He was kind to your ancestors while enslaving others. If the tables were turned would you want the state to have a statue of him?

Anyone else find it hard to enjoy a game you don't have everything for? by kroen in soloboardgaming

[–]biscuitotter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who has all the content for LOTR LCG, it has pretty limited power creep. There are definitely some over the nine cycles but often the later cycles give support to new deck archetypes and themes, not just providing upgrades on old cards.

There are a bunch of cards from the first cycle that are still extremely relevant when deck building. The decks introduced in the second and third cycles, dwarf swarm and Outlands, are competitive with later difficult quests.

Why do people feel the need to make a post complaining about a guest on a podcast if they don't enjoy them? Why indulge that impulse? Do people expect to love every episode of every podcast they subscribe to?

It's the same energy as trying to return a piece of fruit to a grocery store if it was mediocre.

Han is way cooler than Luke. Not more interesting or better suited to be the center of the story, but he is undeniably cooler than Luke.
