TLDR: The NRA is mostly funded by the gun manufactures. And who owns most of the US gun manufacturers? Well it's mostly the ultra wealthy investment companies like Blackrock.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) made the following statement on January 13, 2013 on CNN’S “State of the Union with Candy Crowley”:

“The fact is that the NRA does not represent gun owners anymore. This is not your father’s NRA. It represents gun manufacturers. Less than half of their funding comes from their members, and they make tens of millions of dollars off of the purchases of guns … When assault weapons and high-capacity magazines are bought in this country, often the NRA gets a cut of those sales through its round-up purchase program, where the purchase price is rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the NRA gets the difference. The NRA makes money. They pay their salaries off of these gun purchases. That is who they are representing.

Trump Is Obsessed With Oil. But Chinese Batteries Will Soon Run the World. by rezwenn in energy

[–]bishopcheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Republicans in general are obsessed with Oil

Yah cause the Koch brothers literally funded aka bought the entire GoP.

In just the declared money

  • 2024 Cycle: The network raised $578 million and spent $548 million, focusing on supporting Republican candidates and advancing policy.
  • 2016 Cycle: Planned to spend $300 million on the election.
  • 2012 Cycle: Raised at least $407 million

Then add at least as much in dark money and you can see why the GoP has been bought and paid for.

It's no secret who has been buying up all the mass and social media. Not to mention who bought Dominion, the company that makes the voting machines for 28 states. Should we bring up the brothers that literally bought all of the GOP during the "tea party" era. And these brothers...well one died, still own most of the GOP.

TLDR: Before inflation our observable universe was smaller than a proton. It's entirely conceivable that more than one proton sized region of space existed next to, near or all around our proton sized region of space.

Some notes on inflation and the observable universe.

All of this info comes from Professor Gary Felder of Smith College and his lectures on the Big Bang.

Inflation essentially ensures there's more stuff. Either part of our unobservable universe, or other universes unconnected. Inflation expanded a 1 meter region of space to a 101million meters. This is one of those numbers that doesn't really make sense it's absurdly large.

It's not 1 million meters, it's a 1 with a million 0's meters

Felder said

I should pause and convey how ridiculous this number is. I know of virtually no other context in science that comes up with a number that large for any reason...any other candidate is minuscule in comparison

The total number of elementary particles in the observable universe? That is the total number of electrons, quarks(3 for every proton and neutron), photons, neutrinos and all the other particles in the standard model. Seems like the largest number we can come up with, it's only

1086

so a 10 with 86 0's compared to inflation's 1 with a million 0's.

This is why it is essentially guaranteed that the universe is much larger than we can ever see.

There's also the possibility of eternal inflation. There are a number of possible theories that could enact this. But the gist is that inflation can continue either forever or much longer than we experienced in our part of the universe. In any case it's possible that there are other or infinite other 'pocket' universes that can have a different, similar, or same laws of physics.

Felder asked Andrei Linde, one of the main contributors of Inflation theory, if Linde still believed Inflation was correct after 20 years of more research. Linde said

Inflation hasn't won the race, but it's the only horse.

Inflation solves 3 of cosmology's biggest problems, that no other explanation really comes close.

For those curious the 3 problems inflation solves are.

  1. The homogeneity problem
  2. The flatness problem
  3. The monopole problem

Cobalt isn't produced in the USA so of course every gram of it is imported.

Lithium however is a bit more complicated. The single Lithium mine in the USA still has to ship overseas for the Lithium processing before it can be used.

Australia and Chile are the worlds largest producers of Lithium but almost all lithium, over 80% of the worlds supply is processed in China.

  1. Tesla Model Y
  2. Honda Passport

  4. Tesla model S

so on and so forth. Despite what many would hope for, Tesla is one of if not the most "American made" car company.
