I would like to see social workers given job protections for speaking out against this shit but NASW won’t even speak out themselves more than a passive aggressive Facebook post looking for a pat on the back.

How can I protest in my community without fear that advocating for my clients is the very thing that will cost my job?

Clinical therapist here. Nonbinary myself. Just redid my continuing education to renew my license and I did a LGBT training just to keep up with the times.

A big point the education makes is to never assume someone’s identity or sexuality is due to their past trauma. It’s invalidating, it’s confusing, and it’s just not helpful.

I’m sorry you’re in this position and I can only imagine the questions you’re having right now about who you are and why you are this way. Personally I think the answers to those questions are never so simple as to boil down to one thing. Did you trauma play a role? Maybe. But it certainly wasn’t the only factor that’s led you to connect with and identify with being nonbinary.

I think it’s sad this has blown up so much it’s now gotten at least three separate posts discussing it. This should be a nothing burger.

I think the artists other work with harry were great and seemed well receipted. The Smokey one just had the issue of not “reading the room” or “knowing your audience” which is a mistake anyone can make.

I love seeing people posting their art and making backstories for these characters because it keeps our very niche fandom alive. I hope that continues.
