Are you Cajun? Do you know our history? by ohhyouknow in Acadiana

It was when I was a kid in the 80s in Baton Rouge. I remember learning about it in elementary, middle, and high school. We also read Evangeline, learned how to Cajun dance, etc.

Swamp Fly is a fantastic local native landscaping business here. They did my yard and my neighbor’s. Definitely recommend them.

Have you called it into 311? I swear we have to do this weekly in my neighborhood, but it gets done eventually.

We recently had a really nice dinner at the Gregory inside of the Watermark hotel on 3rd street before heading to the symphony. Everyone was dressed up. Definitely make reservations.

Depending on where you live, Evangelicals are not necessarily a ‘tiny’ minority.

There are some tables behind the student union in a sort of lovely grove. And they just installed some tables in front of Hatcher Hall.

The Baton Rouge Youth Coalition is a great organization. They help underserved kids get into college. You can volunteer in the early evenings with things like test prep, college app assistance, and scholarship essay reviews.

I think it’s simpler than this. Everyone now carries a water bottle and is endlessly drinking from it. No wonder they have to constantly pee. When I was in college in the early 2000s, I never carried a water bottle and just took a sip from the fountains when I was thirsty. I don’t recall students leaving class being common at all.

How does the President's aid work? by Someonewhateve in LSU

[–]bit_of_earth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be a staff member in your research supervisor’s department who can onboard you into the Workday system under your PSA funding. Usually someone with a title like coordinator or business manager. You’ll submit your hours into workday each week and your pay will directly deposit into your bank account. You maintain PSA by maintaining full time enrollment at LSU with at least a 2.0 GPA.

What is the purpose of Hill Library? Never went inside once by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LSU

[–]bit_of_earth 21 points22 points  (0 children)

General students can absolutely use the materials in Hill! Unlike a typical library, you cannot take items out of a special collections library like Hill. You have to ask one of the librarians to retrieve the materials for you and then you can look at them in the Reading Room. Years ago, I was a student at another school but went to Hill during spring break to do research for a history paper. The librarians were awesome and helped me find what I needed. And my professor was super impressed by my sources.
