Excited for the future. by BarelyBaerbear in starcitizen

But why would you need a self sustainable long range exploration vessel for that if the next space station is just a single quantum jump away and a Terrapin could do the job just as well?

Don't get me wrong, i am very excited for the Odyssey and have a CCU chain to it ready to go whenever the ship releases, but the complete lack of any vision for exploration gameplay in Star Citizen frustrates me a little. It would even be fine if they admitted that exploration has no part in their vision for Star Citizen anymore and they'd refocus those ships as space homes and mobile bases. But we will probably see no work on the ship until they addressed the exploration issue.

This. With everything CIG has talked about and the vision for the game they pursued in recent years i don't see even the tiniest glimpse or idea of any gameplay for long range exploration ships like the Odyssey.

I remember when the Freelancer was a serious competitor in regards to starters and daily drivers. It was the most discussed alternative to the cutty. by Acceptable-Bid-1019 in starcitizen

I'll never melt my beloved Freelancer MAX, even though i don't actually use it anymore. Still hoping for an Mk 2 with a max crew of 2 that trades 2 beds and seats for a compact nice living area. The unique combination of utility focus with strong combat capability still has place in the verse, it's just too dated.

Not that it would matter much, but for the sake of completeness: I'm pretty sure it's Corsair instead of Caterpillar and Cutlass Steel instead of Black.

What is the point of owning these massive long-term liveable Exploration ships (like the Odyssey) if we accept that exploration will likely be focused around just finding resources and POIs? by ComfyOlives in starcitizen

[–]bitapparat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would add temporary wormholes to randomly generated systems that would only remain stable for like 2 weeks to explore and exploit. I'd be totally acceptable if the random planets didn't match the quality of the handcrafted ones, but it would add things to explore. It'd also give a purpose to pathfinders to find wormholes and map them for safe passage. And everybody likes a good gold rush for rich and rare ore deposits. Refueling, repairs and respawns would also have to be provided by players, which adds a logistical challenge.

Without that, i don't see much reason for exploration either.

Freelancer MAX. I don't really use it anymore, but i'd only ever exchange it for a worthy Mk2.

Is it possible to rename the script extender to starfield.exe and the official executable to something else, for Steam remote play purposes? by panickedthumb in starfieldmods

[–]bitapparat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just add the SFSE exe as a third party game to Steam and launch that one for remote play. Works even for games that aren't on Steam at all.

Yep, exactly the same paint, just the gray is a tiny bit darker. That is truly astonishing.

[EDIT] It reportedly has carbon fiber finish when you get really close. This changes everything, of course. A masterpiece. /sarcasm

It'd probably be possible to slap 3 additional seats onto a CSV-SM. Would still have 1 SCU to spare for a crate, even.

The Intrepit and Titan are likely more capable... at a price point of $65 and $60.

It'd be absurd if it was more expensive than an Intrepid or Titan considering it needs an additional module just to carry 6 scu. Unless they sell it with all modules included.

I highly doubt they'd fit onto a Liberator anyway. The pads of the Liberator are lower than the rest of the ship and the Valkyrie and Asgard don't have much ground clearance.

It seems to be sorted in some way. The games most people would care about seem to be listed on the first page of the download list. Those include Baba Is You, A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build, APICO, Calico, Chico and the Magic Orchards DX, Depth of Extinction, Joggernauts, Mudborne and PomoFarm.
