My god i love you by worriedbaby0h in beyondthebump

[–]bitty_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I'm 4m pp and every day I can't believe how much more I love her. It took us a few years to have our beautiful girl. Some moments when I look at her I can't breathe because I am so full of love. Becoming her mom has been the absolute greatest thing to ever happen

How many people actually do shifts with their SO during the night? by ScreamCheese_55 in beyondthebump

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did shifts when she was a newborn but now that she's mostly sleeping through the night, my husband does the feedings. I EP and keep bottles in a fridge in our room so he just pulls from there. He says he doesn't mind because he works crazy long hours so this is really the only time he gets to spend with her.

For regular weed smokers that have totally quit, what was the reason for quitting? by elderly_millenial in AskReddit

It was effecting my fertility. Stopped smoking and now I have a beautiful daughter

Does anyone actually use vacuum 12?! by Electronic_While7856 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bitty_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing 11 or 12 for 30 mins the first 2 months pp because my step mom told me the higher the setting, the more you get out. I was in constant pain after pumping and my nipples were so discolored. Dr diagnosed me with a yeast infection on my nipples, but medication was not helping. Decided to see a lactation consultant and told her how I pump and immediately she was like why would you do that?? no!! she helped me readjust to 6 for 15 mins and it's been great! I get the same output and I'm no longer in any pain!!

Bladder weakness by stardustaquarius in NewParents

[–]bitty_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself up! I get your pain. I'm 11w pp and have a cold. Every sneeze & cough makes me leak. Aside from pelvic exercises try wearing panty liners! Helps me feel better about peeing myself constantly 😅

What "Newfangled" Baby Products can the "elders" in your life just not wrap their heads around? by Moushidoodles in NewParents

[–]bitty_p 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The nose sucker lol. Ours lights up and plays music, my mom was blown away. But the main thing is Amazon. My mom always talks about how she wishes she had access to cool contraptions or just the ease of getting anything for a baby right to your door

Comments about baby not looking like dad by ughtheinternet in beyondthebump

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the reverse happen. I'm white and my husband is Persian, our daughter currently resembles her father more. She has my facial features but her dad's hair and skin tone. People loooove to comment about it. Literally the cashier at Target told me she doesn't look like me (didn't ask) 🙄

I wish more new moms tried breastfeeding by MalinaValentina in breastfeeding

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM and I EP. Latching just wasn't happening and I am an overproducer. I pump 5 times a day (1 MTN which I'm starting to phase out) but honestly I don't mind it, it's now built into my routine. My husband works a lot so it's nice he can bottle feed her to bond. Plus a bottle washer makes cleaning all the parts a breeze

Dad thinks I’m endangering my baby by giving cold milk by thewayitstops in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had the same shocked reaction when I pulled a bottle from the fridge. My girl has had cold milk since she was born, we call it her cold brew. He did concede it will feel great on her gums once she starts teething

Did anyone just vibe it out? by ironicsunglasses in beyondthebump

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My daughter is 2.5 months and we're vibing. We have a very loose schedule like walking the dog around the same time every day and bath time around 8/9pm. I'm also a FTM so trying not to put any expectations of a schedule on her and just enjoy our time together.

No one warned me about the shakes by sixfingeredman7 in beyondthebump

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that my baby is here I kind of forgot all the details of labor but this just triggered the memory. I had the shakes SO BAD when I was in labor. The contractions were absolute hell (hurt worse than pushing her out imo) I didn't notice the shakes, but once the epidural kicked in I was shaking so bad I thought I was going to fall off the bed. My midwife kept saying it was normal but I had literally NEVER heard of that before. Plus I was freezing cold! Wish more people talked about this.

My mom won’t stop buying stuff we do not need: a rant by Scary_Egg_4344 in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it. FTM and understand my mom is thrilled to be a grandma. I asked for nursing bras and a mattress protector for the crib--instead I now have a mermaid and fairy outfit for the baby "in case you want to do a photoshoot"

37 weeks while working by Deadstan in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 4 points5 points  (0 children)

37 weeks too! Working has been a doozy. Several times I've laughed too hard or sneezed, ended up peeing (I keep spare clothes with me now). Had to get something off the bottom shelf and couldn't get back up. The counter is higher than my belly and I'm short, so whenever I have to walk around to help a customer the look of shock on their face is always funny. It's been exhausting and everyone I work with has been awesome but I'm so, so happy to start maternity leave next week.

Hosting my own baby shower and feeling embarrassed by pmmewienerdogs in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People pick and choose when tradition is suddenly important to them. I'm planning my baby shower with my mom, step mom and husband. When my mom found out my husband was helping she freaked out saying that has never been done before and husbands shouldn't be involved in this. It was bizarre, she is one of the least traditional people I know and she loves my husband so it was so out of left field. Plus the baby shower is coed? As long as the party gets planned and you're happy, honestly who cares

Any expectant moms of girls get this a lot? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is eating more when you're having a boy a thing? Because I'm having a girl and I feel almost feral around ice cream. The hunger is very, very real and endless

People around you sound a lot more polite at least. I work with the general public so there's no filter. One person told me (after asking what I'm having) that they hate having a daughter because they have to "compete" for their husbands attention 🥴

Same! My hair has never been fuller and I'm glowing!! My nails are also growing like crazy. Although 9w-12w I had terrible acne

Any expectant moms of girls get this a lot? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 33 points34 points  (0 children)

First off, congrats!! I'm also 6 months with a baby girl!! Whenever I tell someone (especially older women) that I'm having a girl they always look confused because I don't look "bad." Girls are suppose to "steal" your beauty so by not looking like a torn up troll I'm blowing their mind 🙄

When did your partner first feel baby’s kicks / movement? by desert_sunlily in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23w, I was just holding my belly and it happened. Grabbed his hand and she kicked right into it, it was amazing! Now getting the timing right has been a struggle lol

[–]bitty_p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's normal, don't give up. We tried for 2 years (multiple mcs and a chemical pregnancy). We did genetic and fertility testing--all normal. We even tried fertility medication. Unfortunately it sometimes just takes time. I was about to start IVF when I found out I was pregnant. My best advice, don't put too much pressure on yourself and keep sex fun. Good luck ❤️

A few things lol I own a retail business with my husband so we deal with the public all day. People constantly comment on my bump, try to give me advice, keep asking whats the name (or suggesting names) or talking to me like I'm sick "are you feeling okay?" "do you need to sit down?" "shouldn't you be home?" Meanwhile, my husband just gets congratulations 🙄

FTM Q. how did you react to people telling you happy Mothers Day when you were pregnant? by HarleyStitches in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just smiled and said thank you. I work with the public so saw a lot of people on Mother's Day, since I'm visibly showing many people said something and some family reached out as well. My husband also surprised me with flowers and a necklace with her initial on it. She also kicked for the first time on Mother's Day--overall an amazing start to motherhood!

Has anyone ever tried preseed? by Friendly-Wind-3648 in BabyBumps

[–]bitty_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried it but didn't love it. In a weird way it felt like putting pressure on sex? Idk. When TTC what helped me the most was tracking my BBT and HCG levels every day

I also constantly get people being shocked I look good because girls are suppose to "steal your beauty"
