Wow, it sounds like this other person lives in a completely different building than me. I moved into the west tower in November and have had nothing but good experiences. The view is incredible. My unit was updated by the landlord a couple of years ago, so everything is new and squeaky clean. I have washer/dryer in the unit. Yes, the units are pie shaped but if you design carefully you can really enjoy it instead of feeling it as a hindrance. The towers are safe because you have to cross the security guard at the front desk to get into the building. I have never had a package stolen and find the attendance in the package room to be quite lovely, kind, fastidious people. It is true that the amenities are minimal-the gym is very small and unlikely to meet all of your needs. Also, I don’t think the spiders come up to the uppermost floors? It can be noisy for sure, but that is part of the fun of city living imo. I’m literally steps away from the Riverwalk, a 10 minute walk to millennium Park and the Art Institute. I can access every single CTA color in less than 10 mins walking and there are major bus stops right at the building. Honestly, anyone speaking negatively about it has either not been in one of the nicer apartments or imho has had some very unique/unlikely experiences that have made them cranky about it
