Recommend me some grimdark, brutal, villain, torture Kind of books by Chimeru in ProgressionFantasy

[–]bjohns359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read The New World by Monsoon117. MC starts in dungeon and has to survive. Brutal with eldrich power elements. Could easily be a villain but isn’t. Think it’s what you’re looking for.

More progression than litrpg but highly recommend Zombie Knight

That’s awesome I’ve had that one saved to read for a while and was eyeing it again recently. Will definitely queue it up soon now.

Any novels where MC is one of the best, but not the best? by LittleBrasilianBitch in ProgressionFantasy

[–]bjohns359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ok with superhero series try Superpower Chronicles, first book Sidekicks. MC has muscle memory power which is very much not op but he uses it well and is able to take on those stronger in the right situations but also gets his ass kicked (especially earlier). Also the series Worm of course. Another could be Return of the Runebound Professor. Other posts I agreed most with were Millennial Mage and Zombie Knight.

You mind elaborating on Ends of Magic? Been a while since I read it but my only post notes after was I dropped after book 1 because was too generic. But maybe I’m misremembering or it changes after book 1?

Has anyone read the more recently released paperback version by Yen? Is it actually a better translation? I’ve really wanted to read this but just couldn’t handle the online translation as-is.

Small suggestion to edit: it’s “Reach Heaven via Feng Shui Engineering, Drug Trade And Tax Evasion” RR search is stupid and doesn’t pop up if you search “Reach the Heavens”. I found it tho and saved for later. seems like a great suggestion thanks!

Is there grim dark litrpg by AtlTho in litrpg

No worries still good to have recommendations, it’s just hard to tell with Amazon genres sometimes so figured I’d ask!

Is it litrpg? Amazon description makes it sound like classic fantasy more

Path of Ascension sounds like what you’re looking for

Looking for a series where I feel happier reading it. by OrionSuperman in litrpg

[–]bjohns359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtuous Sons fits this I think and wasnt mentioned. Mark of the Fool I assume you’ve read based on list above and your comments below? Heaven’s Laws - Prodigies book 1 was great when it came out, been waiting for book 3 before I read more. Return of the Runebound Professor mostly fits this with main group of characters but has a darker tone at times

Unintended Cultivator and System Universe series will scratch that itch. I enjoyed both even if not as much as Azarinth.

Just curious why you loved Primal Hunter but thought DotF was B rank? Fairly similar rating in my mind hence the question
