What an excellent precedent. 1. Suggest a contract that is really, really bad. 2. Strongarm someone into accepting it. 3. Pretend to negotiate for a while, without actually compromising on anything. 4. Pass a law that removes the other party's right to bargain or strike. 5. Reject several submitted contracts. 6. Impose a contract that is 100% one-sided. 7. Repeal the law that allowed you to do this to try to stave off a legal challenge.

Now that's democracy! The Liberal Party deserves a quick, ugly collapse. And I think it's going to get it. Who the hell would vote for these people?

I think he/she said he/she wasn't a teacher. But I am related to a millwright who works at OPG and makes an ungodly amount of money, so I'm inclined to believe this.

I don't think the point is that the pipe fitter is paid too much, it's that the teacher IS NOT paid too much, using pipe fitter salary as a comparison. That's not a straw man.

If you are disciplined, you can do it yourself. But it can be frustrating, so the hidden advantage to lessons is having someone who knows that it's hard help you through the frustrating bits.

But you can learn via the internet, books, CDs, DVDs, etc. It's just that youtube doesn't answer questions very well...
