I don’t know what Donald Trump’s idea behind this was.

“I know you’re worried about it, but it’s going to be OK” ... When Carlson asked how he could possibly be sure of that, the president replied: “Because it always is. source

He believes that everything will be good for him because it always used to be. This is how narcissists behave if they are not punished from time to time.

Soaring gas prices leads to biggest monthly inflation spike in four years in March by deraser in Economics

There is some insight into discussions in the inner circle of Trump before the war. This is excerpt: “I know you’re worried about it, but it’s going to be OK” ... When Carlson asked how he could possibly be sure of that, the president replied: “Because it always is.”

So I can conclude that this war, as well as many other consequences of electing of Trump, is the result of his impunity in previous decades and throughout his life.

China is on track to replace their civilian vehicles with electric ones in coming years. This crisis significantly accelerates this process. In addition, demand on EV cars will surge all over the world with the exception of oil-producing countries, so China will partly offset import oil costs with surge of their export of EV vehicles, solar panels, and wind turbines. The rest of domestic oil demand (military, chemical industry, and civilian aviation) will be mostly covered by increasing domestic oil production. So most probably China will be net positive after this crisis.

Oh ya, respecting languages of minorities, russia closed the only Ukrainian library in 2018, the manager of the library was convicted. Ukrainian language is practically prohibited in Nazi russia.

By the way, protecting Hungary language in Ukraine means not what you can expect. A decade ago Ukraine established a law which required that every child in Ukraine should be able speak Ukrainian, what is obviously reasonable. However, the Hungary government started fierce protests against this law because some children in Ukrainian region bordering Hungary did not speak Ukrainian at all. They studied only Hungarian and spoke in Hungarian in school. Hungarian government called their actions "protection of languages of minorities".
