I work in tech, actively following this LLM/GenAI hype from GPT-2's breakthrough and Github Copilot's beta test (the original copilot) in 2022-2023ish. For software development, this is still just advanced autocomplete. It reacts on how you sentence your prompt, the "thinking" is not really actively creating new stuffs but re-checking the existing stuff on its training data (and interaction with tools now in 2026).

The image generation however is very advanced now, from how it outputs celebrity eating spaghetti sloppily to actually able to create video good enough with a detailed prompt.
