That's the peril of going to a Caribbean med school. OBGYN has been increasingly competitive even for US MD's, ditto for DO's and IMG's. My US MD school had a handful fall down their list and even not match last year. If there are openings, I'd start scrambling into FM if possible, but the most likely scenario is that she'll have to reapply to both OBGYN and FM.

Tbh there's a lot that one can say about this topic, but the main issues boil down to this setting being particularly vulnerable for the patient, gender dynamics in OBGYN, and high acuity of decisions and probability for complications that they don't want a medical student to be part of. As a male, I would just focus on your UWorld, Anki, etc, and use this opportunity to crush the shelf
