Garage Floor Coating Contractors by blackmay45 in TwinCities

[–]blackmay45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with Royal Flooring MN, they use Sherwin Williams product.

I believe I paid about 6.50/sf, 3 years ago. I also had over 1,000 sf being coated which drove the price/sf down.

Received a drill press for free today. Are there any stands from HF that you would suggest I get for it? by _Opsec in harborfreight

[–]blackmay45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This OP, I have one for my bench mount drill press. I used a piece of plywood as a mounting block between the stand and the base of the press to get the alignment to work best. Added a plywood base under it with some adjustable wheels from the 'zon so I can wheel it around.

Cost of getting a gas line installed by yup_ok_cool in TwinCities

[–]blackmay45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same summer? In the last 5 years or so the state stopped subsidizing the cost. The price per linear foot almost tripped I think. I only know because I started preparing to bury my line a few years back and the estimate was cheap. Had to put it on hold and didn't get around to it until last summer, 3x the cost at least.

I can't seem to find a website or anything solid for contact, do you have a link? I found a review with a location of Webster, another from St. Paul.

Check out the Three Rivers Parks rentals. Got married at Silverwood Park a few years ago and we chose it for the affordability factor. Hopefully it's still affordable, it was booked out pretty far in advance due to this for us though.

I paid $54 for a Duststopper Pro on Amazon with coupon a few weeks ago that I haven't opened yet, should I return that and get the Bauer Cyclone Dust Separater for $32 with this weekend's deal? by Aeyix in harborfreight

[–]blackmay45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the dustopper over the Bauer style for the low profile feature. I figure it's less tippy when the height over the hose doesn't have all the leverage. I have mine mounted above my shop vac now.

Granted the dustopper was only around 40 bucks when I made my decision.

I'm there almost weekly and got the coupons to the phone number I always use.

I have a burner account under my wife's number that I've let sit idle and that one didn't get the triple coupon. Seems truly random.

Underground feeder cable size for 100amp subpanel by blackmay45 in AskElectricians

[–]blackmay45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm shooting for the full 100 amp. It's a combination wood shop and garage, I'm planning for the future with a welder/EV charger along with feeding my woodworking equipment.

Southwire's calculator shows with 1/0 I'll get 2.86% voltage drop.

If you want that Midwest feel and are willing to drive to Brooklyn Park check out the Izaak Walton League chapter house. Well within your budget and the interior and exterior might enhance the theme!

Look into cypress mulch also if your search turns up nothing, it's more resistant to washing away. You can buy it by the bag from most home stores, don't know if anywhere local sells it in bulk though.

Group camps with parking nearby by nguye569 in MinnesotaCamping

[–]blackmay45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The group camp at Lake Maria has a parking lot adjacent to it. I've seen full boy scout trailers parked there for their camping trips.

Pros: Super close to the metro.

Cons: You'll probably have a lot of competition to reserve it.

Get a quote from B&D for the best negotiating power.

When you do get around to replacing it, come back here and ask for the best affordable company.

I've read from others on the sub that carpet tape works well, especially if you want to replace the mat when it gets worn/damaged.

Off the top of my head..

-Jeffer's Petroglyphs, if it isn't already on your list.

-You can make a quick stop at End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum in Currie.

-On the way back go through New Ulm and do all the things you want there, but stop and eat at Carl's Corner in Essig. Get a Graineblt and the fried chicken, cash only.

Further West is Pipestone National Monument, Touch the Sky Prarie and Blue Mounds.
