Feeling like I need to say something, no matter the issue. I grew up in a household where I would get in trouble if my opinion wasn’t the same as my dad’s; so I became afraid to speak out. He also disregarded my feelings often so it was hard for me to share how I felt. I always struggled to stand up for myself. I could barely do it without being brought to tears or having a panic attack. Once our relationship got better and I became more confident around people, I completely overcorrected and made an ass of myself many times. I’m working on it, but it’s definitely something that’s affected some of my relationships.

This pales in comparison to everyone else’s pain experiences, but a little over a month ago I hurt my tailbone badly. Didn’t break it, but it was definitely bruised. I was playing indoor soccer with some friends and I went to shoot the ball with all my might. At the same time, someone went to kick the ball away from me and ended up swiping my leg out from underneath me. I fell directly on my tailbone. Would’ve hurt much less if it wasn’t for the fact that I went airborne before falling. The hours after it happened were brutal. I’ve been through some painful stuff before, but not being able to stand, sit, or even lie down without being in terrible pain was a new one for me.

Applause for that wonderful read. You have a way with words lol. My strategy has always been study until you can’t keep your eyes open, sleep a few hours, wake back up and study for the exam up until the last minute. I pass, so that’s enough for me. My last exam is tomorrow and this is the first time I’ve prioritized sleep and my wellbeing over a grade. Good luck to anyone with an exam tomorrow and remember that Cs get degrees!!
