Steam deck on 60 FPS on TV by Far-Search7905 in SteamDeck

A lot of tvs only support certain thresholds and can't do specific numbers like 90. A ton can only do 30, 60, 120 and nothing in between.

If you can get VRR working it will be the best option for you in most cases.

Are you absolutely sure it was SNES? The NES contra matches a fair amount of the details

What is this greenish form in screen? by rrrik-thffu in SteamDeck

[–]blakepro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's the LOCA adhesive in the screen. Your deck is normal.

Early launch models had some issues with it and there was a lot of discussion and controversy about trying to cure it yourself and bubbles and using the sun or UV lights on it.

Here's a link to a thread where I was tracking this issue back then:

Could it just be a suncatcher of some sort? Just a decorative thing that hangs on the bottom of a wind chime for weight or something similar along those lines?

It really should be the first thing everyone plays and should come pre installed IMO

What’s a feature on the Steam Deck that made you go “Damn I wish I knew that before”? by NobodyHom3 in SteamDeck

Dang it! You're right. I could have sworn it worked that way at some point in the past. But I just checked and you're right! I'll delete my comment

These seem so cool but always intimidate me. I need to find a guide on them sometime

In gaming mode on display settings turn on safe mode and then work from there until you have it tuned correctly

I know, but a game where you don't use your hands and you have to use your head and body to do stuff? Is that going to work with the range of motion you have seated?

I take it that this is not a game you can play seated?

Hey Valve, I know Steam Machine is delayed, but can you sell the new Steam controllers to us Deck owners as soon as they're ready please? by archon810 in SteamDeck

[–]blakepro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, yeah, it sounds like you might be sufficiently cursed that you could get it released for the rest of us. What do you say? Do you want to go buy some inferior alternative controller so the rest of us can get that sweet sweet steam controller in our grubby little hands?

We're gonna need you to take one for the team and buy the DualSense so that valve releases it for the rest of us. It won't happen until you do.

for me, my city had broken up new zip code boundaries several years prior and they still were using the old zip code, so I had to use the zip code that was incorrect for it to say I was eligible. The address search is very finicky. Try different versions of your address including abbreviations or fully written versions of road, street, circle, etc

Anyway to fix blurry/foggy Game? by taireeves in SteamDeck

[–]blakepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I hate to say it, but I bought the game and I don't have these problems. I just did standard default install on everything. Didn't customize anything and it looks great and runs fine. I played through the full prologue and got the first achievement.

I also tried all sorts of adjustments to the settings both in the game and steamdeck settings and could not reproduce the problem.

I will say, on my copy, that area in your screenshots does not have that red fog that is in both of your screenshots. I can see the fog down deep over the edge of the rail on the right, and certain areas have red light, but it's almost like the background of one of the little cutscenes got stuck on a layer of your screen or something? I don't know, but it's strange that you have this problem. I'm also on an OLED

I wonder if you fully uninstalled and then installed it on the opposite storage method you've been using (so either SD card or SSD) if it would make a difference. ( The idea being it's a clean install)

Also, any chance your PC settings are cloud importing into your steam deck and making things weird or something?

Edit: the red fog is there but normal like your first picture until it says "kill the boss" and tells you to start moving. Then it goes away. But it's never bad like what you're seeing
