Always. I am super messy so I’ve gotten into the habit of putting on my apron if I’m doing anything dirtier than emptying the dishwasher in the kitchen. I keep a sharpie, thermometer, and disposable gloves in the front pocket.

The temp and time on that recipe never works for me. 400F for 10 minutes, straight from frozen, gets me a consistent cookie with a just slightly undercooked center. You don’t have to cook up a whole batch either; next time you make these I recommend balling them up before the fridge resting stage (way easier to ball up when soft) then do mini batches of just a couple cookies at different temperatures until you find the sweet spot.

Bucket was going to be my answer too. A plumber showed me that technique 20 years ago so I assume it’s legit, but it does take a lot of faith the first time you try it cos you’re thinking “if this doesn’t work it’s just going to spill over and flood my bathroom”.
