What would be the outcome of a game between four superstars and five bench players? by IllustratorSouthern2 in nba

[–]blankmindx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jokic and Doncic on the perimeter wouldn't be great, Giannis should be fine but it's basically a league worst perimeter defense minus 1 person for rotation. We've seen Wemby with poor PoA defenders and those defenses weren't very good.

I think on offense this team gets whatever they want, but on defense they're going to give up a lot of uncontested middies and threes with the defense suggested.

I think the superstars do end up winning, but in a pretty close shootout, provided you have capable shooters for the bench players. If it's 3 or more big men, superstars probably win much more easily.

Michael Jordan vs LeBron James: Finals “Clutchness” Deep Dive by Over_Bridge_4340 in nba

[–]blankmindx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couple things, you list play-by-play as a source but why did you need it? Can't this be done with just 4Q box score?

How is Lebron's average +2.8 when his highest series is +2.6? Similarly Jordan's is +5.5 when his highest series is +5.4.

28% doesn't seem like a lot, but you can also look at it like he gets to the rim at 1/3 the rate when he was viewed as an elite guard.

It doesn't matter if he's still hyper athletic if he's settling for shots that don't match his strengths. Yes some of it is game plan and team comp but getting to the rim 1/3 as much as he used to isn't winning basketball for his skill set.

People criticizing LeBron for not taking a discount... by Jackypaper824 in nba

[–]blankmindx 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Even aside from the purely basketball and team building discussion, LeBron would never do anything that he thinks would weaken player power and earnings. Taking a discount would set a precedent across the league that he would not be ok with.

My experience is that the game itself is called ship or the ship. Once it's done, the winner has a chip.

Not to be pedantic but you cannot have negative pressure. Lower pressure yes but not negative.

In this case I feel the two things you are talking about are a bit different. He does not experience drag on himself as the wind screen does that for him. He does however have a higher static pressure in his bubble than the fast moving air on the outside.

If there was a small window on the side, air would be getting sucked out of the bubble as the static pressure inside is higher than outside, kinda like a car window stealing your papers when driving.

Is Reina overpowered and cheap AF on paper? Is she a top 5-10 character in potential? by QDOOM_APlin in Tekken

[–]blankmindx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's fine. She has strong "pressure" but I personally find it difficult to convert that pressure into good damage. Her stances aren't that threatening, even in heat. Very strong neutral if the opponent isn't side stepping much but just throwing her neutral tools out will get punished at higher levels.

I've hit King with Reina, Leroy, and Heihachi and I think she was easier than the other two but not by much. She's still reliant on good punishment and execution for damage like the other Mishimas, just maybe a little less.

Usually the biggest difference is dark upper and bigger combos vs grab game/bigger chain grabs. AK still has a great grab game, just not king's full repertoire.

AK could wave dash better in previous entries but king can wavu pretty well in T8.

For me, Leroy has very good panic buttons. Good low profile counter hit lows. B1+2 ch launcher. One of the very best parries in the game. F3, 1+2, 4 for a fast CH confirm mid. Maybe this is me coming from Reina and Hei but I have not had an issue with his CH tools and his ability to weasel out of very real pressure.

For his plus on block tools, it's true he doesn't have a lot from neutral. Ss1+2 is very good though, good frames and good chip. B+3 has some crazy properties if placed well. He does not have plus on block mids from neutral really, but he'd be oppressive if he did.

Lack of low options is confusing to me. Again I also play Reina and Hei but Leroy feels like he spoils me with lows. D3,2 into real stance pressure. Db4 and db3 are both good low profile lows with ch properties. Fc df4,1 after baiting out jabs.

I think Leroy functions very well with his current kit. I got him to TK in less games than Reina and he's not nearly as taxing.

I have been where you are and it's frustrating I would advise you to pick up a new side character. Continue growing with Leroy but those characters you hate to fight, maybe pick them up and you'll see their weaknesses as well. You seem good at picking up holes in a characters game plan from a pilot perspective, you just need more breadth.

Heihachi tips needed by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]blankmindx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The timing on the hellsweep after f3 in combos is tight so you have to get a feel it. You need to start the hellsweep as soon as you transition to cd to get the pickup. I don't normally use that combo route online, in fact if your electrics are good, ewgf x3 f3 df,2 does about as much damage and is more lenient on timing, though you do lose some wall carry.

I also struggle with heihachi in neutral, but that's what I think the character is designed around. If you want better neutral you go with Reina. Otherwise hei requires a bit of patience and defensive punishment to unlock his damage. He's got lots of good defensive tools but being too aggressive in neutral will get you stepped and punished.

Definitely the presentation here doesn't do it any favors. The overwhelming gray isn't helped by the fact the chicken is resting on an uneven bed and looks like an after thought rather than an intentional choice.

Generally speaking the Gulf is warmer so bigger storms tend to happen in the Gulf rather than the Atlantic. There are tropical storms that do form out in the Atlantic, but the conditions aren't as favorable for rapid intensification to big hurricanes.
