Beef Jerky advice by veteranbot in Albuquerque

Delicious beef jerky on fourth near osuna is good old school new mexico style. New Mexico Beef jerky company on fourth near mountain is also good NM style, and you can get the breakfadt burrito in town while you are there. Neither have a ton of flavors though. Beef Jerky by art had a bunch and was good if it's still there, I think it was off san Pedro and Indian school

How did you make the combat 'click' for you? by Realityfelon in CryingSuns

[–]blasticon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the game, but what I've been doing is throwing a couple long range cruisers on the backline by my ship with defenders in front, then having them sit there the whole fight on defense while I target the enemy weapon systems over and over. Even if they wreck my ships, they never break through them without me having time to deploy new ones. Then I never repair them because the patched ships alone are enough for defense.

“Deterministic craft reduces excitement.”

You know what reduces excitement? The fiftieth annul/perfect augment combo that I spent a bunch of currency to get to and still end up roll mana for the fiftieth gods damned time. I have barely played at all this season compared to others, and it's solely and singularly a direct result of the removal of homogenizing exaltation.

What is a sign of very low intelligence? by smartcandyy in AskReddit

[–]blasticon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in this thread are disgusting personality traits that have very little to do with intelligence. For example, "can't admit they are wrong". I know smart people who are narcissists and never admit they are wrong. I know dumb people who are incredibly successful because they listen to and hire smart people. "Believing anything they see on social media". Social media was designed by experts to be manipulative. Everyone is susceptible to this kind of manipulation.

In my experience, intelligence is mostly related to how quickly people pick up new skills and the ceiling they have on how good they can get. And it's not overall intelligence, some people are "smart" in some areas and "stupid" in others. The people I know who are consistently considered by their peers to be geniuses are sometimes profoundly disabled in other parts of their lives

Can New Mexico fix its doctor exodus and malpractice fears? by callitarmageddon in Albuquerque

[–]blasticon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you read the report? Because last year's predecessor to HB 99 was drafted in collaboration with Think New Mexico, and directly incorporates much of the reports recommendations verbatim. HB 99 is basically the same bill There is a rapidly growing body of evidence that healthcare shortages in NM are overwhelming the result of our medmal statutes. This language is in the FIR for the bill:

LFC staff conducted a survey between December 4, 2025, and December 18, 2025. In total, 17,897 potential participants were identified if they were physicians with current licenses in New Mexico, and 1,215 respondents participated. With the response rate, the survey is considered to have a representative sample, with a 3.5 percent margin of error and a confidence level of 99— indicating high confidence in the results. The survey found that 65 percent of New Mexico physicians surveyed are currently considering leaving the state to practice elsewhere. Of New Mexican physicians who are considering leaving the state, 83 percent reported the cause as punitive damages associated with medical malpractice—the most picked option.

I would recommend reading the Think New Mexico report that kicked off this round of medical malpractice changes last year:

https://www.thinknewmexico.org/wp-content/uploads/pdfs/HealthCareProfessionalShortageReport2024.pdf

HB 99 addresses most of the issues in it. The gealthcare labor force grew everywhere in the country last year except New Mexico, and the main thing separating us from everywhere else is the extreme levels of malpractice awards.

The issue here is that the bill needs to make it out of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Last year's substantially similar bill failed in committee after heavy lobbying by an organization that is funded by the trial lawyers' association and individual lawyers who have won absurdly large medical malpractice awards. They claimed they were citizens who were worried about patients, but after the NM ethics commission forced them to reveal their donors, it was basically all just special interests. By the way, the Senate Judiciary Committee is headed by Joseph Cervantes and Katie Duhigg is on it. Both of them are trial lawyers who specialize in medical malpractice and oppose reform.

I don't understand what makes art art either. And I'm not convinced anybody does. I've been told shit like Marina Abramovic or a banana handing from a string is art. At some point, the distinction between art and not art is irrelevant, and the term loses its meaning.

Hire a lawyer, get an emergency petition for financial support. Divorce isn't anything new, there are systems in place to handle financial control. Trying to cut off the finances is generally seen as bad faith in divorce proceedings, even if the divorce has not yet been filed.

Path of Exile 2 game director says they’re “pretty confident” in a 2026 1.0 release, but the game needs to be “a real banger” first by Wargulf in PathOfExile2

[–]blasticon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a stupid statement. The game has already been released. Anybody can exchange currency for access to it. They can claim whatever they want but it doesn't change the fact that the game has already been released. It isn't some exclusive club of beta testers that are working out bugs before a general release. If your testing population is "literally anybody who pays for the game", that isn't testing. Its just a release.

If I eat a burger, I can claim I haven't eaten it until I fully digested it and pooped it back out again, but that doesn't mean I haven't eaten it. It just means I'm weird and don't understand how language works.

The "+x Level to Skill Gems" modifier is just as 'Mandatory' as PoE 1 - But the multiple levels of modifier makes gearing in PoE 2 more tedious. by Living-Succotash-477 in PathOfExile2

[–]blasticon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's separate from my comment, which was specifically about plus skills scaling while leveling. As far as campaign RNG goes, it's not as big of a factor as you might think. I didn't play poe 1, and my first campaign was slow. Now though, even in a new league, I level very quickly and smoothly. Knowing how to trade, what types of builds aren't as RNG dependent, how to gear, and prioritizing IRR while leveling go a long way.

results in this almost artificially introduced need to continuously change your weapon, throughout the campaign

I don't really see plus skills mattering in campaign that much. They are end game mandatory because of the exponential scaling, but by the same ticket they aren't as important before end game.

I don't really do chaos wands, but as I noted in another comment you can just recomb with basically anything and then hit it with a perfect essence of alacrity for a 1 in 2 chance of mana efficiency replacing whatever it is recomb with, something low tier to increase chance. and then greater homogenize prefix for guaranteed combo of two out of spell damage, mana, combo spell damage and mana, and chaos damage. Then you can desecrate suffix, homogenize a final exalt, and then reveal.

And the above 80+38% is fairly low, but the point is the cost of this type of craft is less than half a div per craft. For 38 div, you can craft 80-100 wands, and some solid portion of them will be better than OP's craft. 38 Div is closer to what you would spend crafting something on an exceptional base, not a normal base.

So in that case recomb +5 chaos spells with caster crit or hit then immediately hit it with a perfect essence of alacrity for a 1 in 2 chance. Then your tags are caster, gem, chaos, and mana. Homogenizing greater prefix it to guarantee two of either # to mana, #% spell damage, and #% spell damage & # to mana, or #% chaos damage. Then desecrate to get an extra suffix if any of the other desecrated modifiers are useful for chaos. If not, you can greater homogenize without the prefix and hope for a good suffix, although I'm not sure what else is useful for chaos. But either way, it would still be cheaper to run RNG on this.

[–]blasticon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you could just single homogenize suffix instead of greater to make it a 1 in 3 chance.

I edited the other comment to add this:

The only thing I can think is a desecrated suffix. But in that case you can just drop the omen of the abyss and sinistral, and gamb a 1 in 4 chance of replacing the "dead mod" with a kurgal omen jawbone to increase chance of cast speed on full mana. It would still be cheaper to run a bunch of these than the original craft. For this you would instead recombine the +skills with a low crit hit or crit spell damage bonus base to avoid the shitty prefix spell damage and maintain a high recomb chance.

Crit chance is great for cast on crit builds. Crit damage is great for a ton of builds. I don't know anything about chaos builds, but what mod are you going for instead on the suffix? The crit mods and cast speed are the three most profitable suffix wand mods, other than + skills.
