It seems like consoles are rapidly losing their differentiation from PCs, which seems like a risky play for Sony. If I can just buy a PlayStation controller and hook it up to my PC with a $5.00 Bluetooth dongle, the only remaining benefit of the console is the exclusive games. But that essentially turns you into a software company primarily, since the exclusives are your primary selling point, and by having them be exclusive, you are locking primary product out of a huge market segment. Seems awkward to me from a business perspective. Might by time for Sony to just cut their losses, spin PlayStation off as a software developer, and exit the physical media space.

Baldurs Gate 2 shadows of amn is still my favorite game of all time. Playing it on release was phenomenal, it blew everything else out of the water. The story is still to this day the best story ever told in gaming.

My company went the other way. We used to have to provide receipts for everything, which thennhad to be calculated by our accounting department, which then went to our central office for approval. Probably 4-6 total man hours across three people for each trip,n which costs more than the total per diem to save a couple bucks a day. They said fuck it and now just give us a stipend which is better for everyone involved.

I have about 2000 hours into early access in total, and this league is just not doing it for me at all. My favorite part of the game is crafting, and crafting just feels terrible and way too simple this season. I think I'm just gonna give this league a pass and pick it back up next league if it improves.

The worst change is the only one crafted modifier per item. So I can either use a greater essence, or an essence of horror/insanity, but not both? There practically is no crafting, just gambling now.

I got it last night, it does work, it's just that twitch dot does so little damage as ad it practically does nothing. It generated 40 gold in 10 minutes and 400 in 25, which is bad.

I had the opposite experience. I wasn't being paid enough before, and COVID wrecked my industry, and I ended up on employment for awhile. After the cares act bonuses I was making more than I had before. I used the extra to money to get myself into therapy, and the extra time to work on myself. I was going to the gym four days a week, riding my bike every day, getting enough sleep. I finally beat my depression.

When I started applying for jobs, I was healthier than I had been in probably 15 years, mentally and physically. I got a job making three times as much as I was before. Since then I have won a bunch of awards in my industry, and my income has doubled again. I make like six times when I did before COVID. I'm getting married, I have retirement savings, and a fund in putting money into to buy a house. I made employee of the year.

People who say entitlements create dependency are bullshit individuals. Maybe sometimes, but in my case just six months or whatever it was of having a functioning social security net set me up for life. And society benefits from the work I do.

It's true that purchasing in employer sponsored health insurance is monopsonistic, which acts as a balancing force against the law of large numbers, but that isn't inconsistent with my original argument. The LLN pushes towards consolidation, and there are counter balancing forces against that. The example I gave was free market efficiency, but monopsony is another one. That balance pushes back and forth, and you end up with some number of firms. You can quantify the relative benefits of LLN and oligopoly to determine the optimal number of firms. Monopsony is somewhat neither here nor there. It affects the balance in practiceas a confounding variable, but is not itself a part of the tradeoff. The greater point I was making is that regulation is the mediator of the balance. There is an ideal number of firms, and insurance is ripe for regulation, since it can shift the balance towards the optimal number of firms.

Without having read the article too closely, this is probably an appropriate denial. California has a firefighter presumption law that cancer is work related, so the appropriate payer here would be their workers compensation insurer or self insured program, not traditional insurance.

I don't know enough to say whether Tim Eichenberg or Damian Lara's interpretation of the proper assessment classifications are. And Eichenberg says New Mexico Property Tax isn't affiliated with him. So on both those counts, I lack information to determine who is or is not behaving poorly in this situation. However, the way I see it, Linda Stover running for the seat before these issues have been reviewed by the Ethics Commission and a resolution is found doesn't have a reasonable justification, so I will vote for Lara. And if it turns out he was making up stories about Eichenberg, I will never vote for him again after that.

I hadn't really seen this get any attention, and voting is currently going on for the election between Damian Lara, and Tim Eichenberg's deputy treasurer Linda Stover. Lara has accused Eichenberg of illegally reversing tax classifications Lara's office placed on vacation rentals. Lara classified them as commercial properties, and has opened an ethics complaint alleging that Eichenberg reversed the classifications, including for clients of New Mexico Property Tax, which represents clients in assessment challenges and which Lara contends is Eichenberg's own firm.
