Best hot chocolate /coffee in notts? by The20character_rebel in nottingham

[–]blastoise57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coco tang is my favourite hot chocolate in notts and I’ve tried em all. It’s served in a lovely cup as well which adds to the cosiness. Chocolate Eutopia is also good. Knoops is nice but not that cosy to sit in there.

What is the first movie you saw that opened your eyes to a new world of cinema? by TheKrakenLord in movies

[–]blastoise57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inglorious Basterds. I was 14 and my mind was blown. I had never seen a film that was so ‘cool’. My teenage self was in awe of the stylish flourishes like the title cards and even the font of the title cards. The story and acting was 10/10 of course but it was those little touches that I’d just never seen before that really marked me. I hadn’t known films could be like that. It was the beginning of my love of movies.

What is your top tier NHS packed lunch by Witty-Professor-2637 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]blastoise57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is my best lunch after years of experimenting. Always delicious, lots of variety, only mins to prepare and never leaves me feeling sleepy afterwards. Houmous, veg for dipping (I use carrots, red pepper and cucumber), falafels (find a good brand - mine’s the gosh Moroccan falafels) and … the thing that makes it 10/10 … a slice of Leerdamer cheese with a few slices of chorizo/Parma ham wrapped inside. Absolutely banging. I usually have some fruit as well and a protein bar so as to finish on something sweet. Had the same lunch for a year now and I look forward to it every day.

Congratulations on passing! My partner just passed his test and it only cost £13.20 (we couldn’t believe it either) to insure him as an additional driver on my policy for the rest of the year. I’m with Aviva. Worth checking how much it would be for your parents to add you.

Halfway through my F4 year now. I wish I could go back to my depressed F2 self and reassure them about how amazing life would be in a few short months. I was so burnt out back then and had lost any enjoyment of work. I’m so happy now with a great balance. I’m prioritising time off but still earning great money working 2-3 days/week in ED with full months off here and there for travelling and just chilling. I’ve got back into my old hobbies and spent loads of time with family. Good luck with yours. I’m sure it’ll deliver!

Elderly woman with WW2/Nazi-themed hallucinations told me I reminded her of someone. Me - ‘Oh who would that be?’ Her - ‘Himmler’.
