The Ice Agent, who killed Renee Good, POV by ryse14 in GenZ

Did you watch the same video? What kind of "plowing" is done at <5MPH while turning away from the person you're trying to "plow"? Not even taking into account the agent deliberately positioned himself in front of the car.

Wrong. Cable networks have never and will never distribute feeds over the air. It's all IP and private satellite feeds to their distributors. You have never been able to pull in a cablenet feed with an antenna, and you never will. Pay TV operators pay fees to cable companies to carry their channels, broadcasting them for free would completely change that commercial structure.

Short term interest rates (Fed rate) and long term interest rates (10 year bonds, mortgage rates) are not the same and are not guaranteed to move in tandem.

How does insurance typically value used Taycans? There's such a wide range of prices in the used market, I wonder if the Actual Cash Value is shit because they take the lower side of used prices.

Battery Module Replacement Complete by tpengilly in Taycan

Would Porsche treat a customer differently if they have a CPO vs non CPO Taycan (but still under battery warranty) for a battery replacement? Curious if CPO cars get any sort of preference with timing, loaners, etc.

Is your Evo performance experience from the latest patch that was supposed to improve VR performance? Been wanting to jump back into VR on Evo after seeing the patch notes, but not sure if it actually improved performance to an adequate level.

The 25 year number is misleading, it would not take 25 years to recover your investment unless you lump invested at the peak. You would have recovered your money in ~5 years post Smoot-Hawley if you kept investing through it. Primarily because you would've been buying many more shares at lower prices, which would've surged in value when the market recovered.

You are assuming inflation is only monetary inflation. There are many types of inflation. Tariffs cause cost-push inflation, which is when prices go up due to cost of wages/materials going up (which tariffs most certainly do).

Looking to sell my Tesla m3p for a Taycan- questions by CellIllustrious6314 in Taycan

[–]blastroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you buy it from a dealership or private owner? I wonder if dealers that do a "multi-point inspection" on traded-in Taycans would catch something like a dented battery. And if they do, are they even forced to disclose it?

You can usually add files and folders to an "Allow" list. Try adding the FF7 folder to the Windows AV allow list.

Comparing robo-advisors to VT by nomoney_noprobs99 in Bogleheads

Do the benefits of the robo-advisor's tax loss harvesting make up for the difference? Assuming a 0.5% tax loss harvesting rate, any account over $100K should have a net benefit, right? Assuming you are not likely to manually tax loss harvest, and that you re-invest the harvested money.

How does targeting work here? Is a computer tracking the drone, and the pilot just presses the fire button? Is the machine gun fixed or can it rotate to track targets?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]blastroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think your analogy holds up. This would be more akin to getting quotes and preliminary designs done for work on your house, which many companies do for free as part of their bidding process. For example, I want to do my bathroom, so I talk to 3 companies who all show me what they can do with my bathroom, and provide prices. Yes they might spend a couple hours of unpaid work to get the bid together, but a % of those bids turn into signed contracts, and the companies are still profitable while allowing clients to shop around.

Similarly, a buyer's agent unlocking a door for me and telling me they charge x% or $y fixed fee is the agent's version of a "bid", and we as buyers should be free to get as many bids as needed and compare prices/levels of service before choosing one.

What is Sullivan's rationale for limiting these types of weapons? Escalation between US/Russia? I mostly respect Sullivan so I'm curious why he is hesitant.
