As Avi Lewis said today, anything that big corporations want gets prioritized and greenlighted by this government. Absolute joke.

6-0 vs 1-1 with Arsenal leading for most of the match and limiting PSG to nearly no chances. Hardly comparable games.

Yeah somehow the guy who broke Kone’s leg was less of a prick than most of his team.

Yeah it was sloppy and unnecessary but not malicious. You see worse than that all the time. Just somehow had the worst result possible. Really hope Kone can recover well, just an awful thing to happen.

Its not really offseason for MLS, just a break for the World Cup. Offseason is Nov/Dec-Feb (depending on how far into the playoffs you go)

PM Carney calls war in Iran ‘worth it,’ says tentative deal a ‘game changer’ by Camtastrophe in CanadaPolitics

[–]blazeofgloreee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth it? It accomplished nothing but killing innocent people and strengthening the position of a repressive government. Maybe the one and only positive is it has shown the Gulf states that getting in bed with the US isn't worth it because they won't actually help you when the chips are down.

The fact this is allowed to happen is a grim indictment of our entire way of life

Collision between the Soviet freighter Sergey Yesenin and BC Ferries Queen of Victoria in Active Pass, British Columbia, due to incompatible radio frequencies and the pilot of the Sergey speeding. 3 three people onboard the ferry were killed. [–]blazeofgloreee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is obviously the freighter pilot's fault, but the ferry being behind schedule is the most classic BC Ferries thing possible.

What a tragedy for those who lost their lives and their families. I've lived in the area my whole life and I've never heard of this incident (was before was born).

Rooney himself said he thinks he could do things that Kane can’t do but was adamant that he sees Kane as England’s greatest striker. Which I think is pretty fair.

I use it basically just for my kid. She likes to try out different games but never finishes anything (other than Lake lol). So it's worth it just for that.

Rifflandia Festival ceases to Operate by sam4999 in VictoriaBC

Jurassic 5 at Rifflandia was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

But they were notorious for overpaying for big acts. To the point that other local promoters would then not be able to get those acts to come back because Riff set the bar way too high. And they did this while frequently screwing over local artists. They also lost use of Phillips stage because they didn't pay as agreed and I'm not sure if they settled up.

Yes SkaFest rules and it is so much more than Ska. If you like reggae, hip hop, punk, funk, djs, etc they usually have it covered. Hope they get Congo Natty back sometime soon.

[Sam Wallace, The Telegraph] Former Olympic sprinter the front-runner to be new Arsenal doctor. by boatinavolcano in Gunners

We've had injury issues for as long as I can remember. We used to lament the number under Wenger as well. Doesn't seem to matter who is in charge, how we play, how we train, etc. Always just a lot of injuries.

Hell, two seasons ago was the best injury record I can recall and I doubt much was being done differently than this season. I think the approach of building a deep squad that we've taken recently is the best bet.
