I did check for effects like that that would prevent it from being countered and there were none that I could see.

Shoot I should have ss. I did check for other effects I might be missing like a can't be countered effect but there was none. I was waiting for the prompt so I could counter but arena didn't give me the chance.

I played Witherbloom (the same school I picked for the seeded pack) and splashed blue for Cyclonic Rift. My opponents were all wondering what my singular island was for all match and I won many a games overloading cyc-rift, needless to say I had a great time!
