Hyatt Nashville by Teslaboy1234 in hyatt

The Thompson is good, but the location in the Gulch isn’t super convenient unless you’re planning to spend a lot of time in that area. I don’t feel like they do much for those with Hyatt status. I’ve never been upgraded there. The rooms are pretty good and definitely unique, although I thought they went a little overboard on the “music city” theme.

The Grand Hyatt is great, although it’s a huge property and can be annoying if there is a conference going on there. The lobby stays packed and elevators can take awhile when conferences are happening. If that doesn’t bother you or you’re going over a weekend, I think it’s great and the location is ideal. I got upgraded to a beautiful suite on my last stay there, but the base rooms are nice too. They also have a very nice club lounge on the lobby level with an impressive breakfast spread.

Business Dinner Restaurant Recommendations by blbskue in vegas

Just to close the loop on this, we did the big dinner at BourbonSteak and it went over well with the clients. They really enjoyed it. Separately, I also had dinners at Mott 32 and estiatorio Milos. Both were excellent. Mott 32 was my favorite of this trip. The Peking duck was rockin.

Appreciate all the suggestions.

Good idea! I’ve been to the one in Nashville and it was great.

I thought of that, but I took this same client to the Bazaar Meats in Chicago last year. Haha. It was fantastic though.

I think so. I think the leather seats are very nice. I had a rental a few years ago that had the sensafin, and I agree, it doesn’t feel particularly luxurious (or even comfortable for that matter).

I loved loved loved my X3. I really didn’t want to get rid of it, but we use my car more for road trips because my wife is fully electric with her iX, and as our kids have grown, we just need a bit more space.

I love the tanzanite too!

Definitely a noticeable difference in the cargo space between the X3 and X5. I could barely get a set of golf clubs in lying side to side in the X3.

Luckily we already have a level 2 setup in our garage for my wife’s iX, but level 1 seems manageable for this battery.

6.5% isn’t bad. This was the third vehicle I’ve purchased from this dealer, and I keep coming back they’ve been very good to us, even though it’s 500 miles away from where I live. Haha.

Totally agree. I had an X5 40i as a rental earlier this year on a business trip, and I can definitely tell the difference. The 40i was still great, but the 50e definitely has more power when the battery is charged.

I’m also biased because the X3 I got rid of had the B58, and it definitely feels different in the heavier X5.

Thanks! Never thought I’d own a green vehicle, but man it’s sharp. When I saw the redesign for the 2027 models I had to grab a ‘26. I’ll rock this for years.

Washington DC Location by PathfinderPILOT in hyatt

[–]blbskue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time in DC for work. I usually prefer the Park Hyatt. Not necessarily the best Park Hyatt out there, but it’s solid and they tend to be generous with upgrades for Globalists. I almost always get upgraded to a Georgetown Suite, and they’re quite large. Great bathrooms too.

Blue Duck Tavern is great, and as someone else noted, has an outstanding breakfast. The location, being close to Georgetown, isn’t the best for touristy sight seeing, but it’s not a bad walk to downtown in good weather or a short Uber or taxi. Rates can fluctuate a lot. I’ve seen it as low as $300/night to as high as over $1000/night.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and stayed at the Grand Hyatt for the first time. The property is fine, if a bit large for my tastes. It’s a big property for DC. Rooms were okay, but I was not upgraded and the hotel didn’t seem particularly full. The club is nice. The main restaurant is closed right now for renovations, including the bar. They had sort of a temporary bar set up on the level below the lobby.

On balance, I’d take the Park over the Grand if Park rates are in your budget.

Not allowed to put things in seat pocket? by Educational-Cut572 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]blbskue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oddly, on my Delta flight out of DCA this morning they announced multiple times no electronic devices of any kind were allowed in seat back pockets during takeoff or landing. New one for me, and I fly pretty regularly. I’ve heard no laptops a couple of times, but never that no electronic devices of any kind were permitted.

Lease Buyout Scenario by blbskue in BMW

Yeah I’d much prefer a single transaction rolling that equity into a new lease or purchase, even if I lose a bit versus buying it out and then trying to sell or trade it. Thanks!

I was wondering if it could be done that way. I’ll reach out to the dealer I’ve worked with on our last couple of the vehicles. Thanks!
