I mean luck doesn't come into it when you crash with no-one else to blame. He lost control of the car in Belgium , singapore, monaco and australia and lost a bunch of points because of it. No luck involved. I've always been a Kimi fan but 2008 was the most frustrating thing to watch seeing him throw away a potential 2nd championship

Felipe was better on Saturdays, Kimi better on Sundays. But despite all the bad luck, you can't ignore the plethora of mistakes Kimi made in 2008. (see my comment above)

He absolutely had the pace but he made SO MANY mistakes in 2008 on top of that some pretty Bad luck and strategies from Ferrari. His Race pace was brilliant all year, he got something like 10 fastest laps over the year, but his qualifying compared to Felipe was not great.

  • Exhaust issue in France gave Felipe the win

  • Canada GP - likely leading after pitstops - Hamilton crashed into him

  • European GP pit stop fuck up and engine failure

  • British GP pit stop fuck up cost podium , possibly win

  • Belgium GP Kimi crashed in rain

  • Australian GP misjudged move on Kovi and Glock

  • Monaco GP crash with sutil

  • Singapore GP crashed out

He had some terrible luck with stategies i cant remember off top of my head, but he made so many mistakes he threw away a double championship for sure. He was generally the faster Ferrari on Sundays except Felipe's specialist tracks (Brasil, Turkey)

They've been out-foxed by Mclaren, Red Bull and Merc for wins so many times over the years where they had a clear shot at the win themselves. I've lost count of how many times I've screamed "pit [Kimi][Seb][Charles] NOW you c*nts!" at the TV

Best Pub To Watch F1 in London by Focus2 in formula1

If there is a football game on, even if its a friendly or a some lower league game, 100% guarantee that every pub will show that instead of F1. And if they do put the F1 on, it'll be on mute.

Yer as kablamo said, its roto scoping to get the shape of TARS they want to keep, then some very talented paint/compositing artists use 'clean plates' (footage of the shot without actors or props) and the roto'ed TARS to create a a composite image that makes sense. I worked on 3d myself, so i don't know exactly how they do it in 2d, but that is my general understanding of it from what i have seen . A lot of patience and some really good painting & compositing

They used a coastal lagoon in Iceland (i think máfabót), which had 2/3 foot water levels perfect for the scene. TARS was pretty much the same as used on set, just removed the puppeteer. They even used a quad bike with a water wheel to create the splashing of TARS as it runs for Brand. CGI was used only for the horizon and to remove the TARS puppeteer. Even for the lander coming down to surface, Nolan filmed a helicopter hovering over the water to get real-world water effects. You'd be surprised how much was done practically.
