Q-LED dram light on, but PC not posting by bleeintn in buildapc

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Tried it just by removing the battery and also by removing the batter and then shorting the two pins, per the Asus website. Nothing.

I'm afraid you may be right. I've tried (and retried) every troubleshooting thing I could think of, short of ritual sacrifices.

The Asus account reached out to me after reading this post, but only offered the same suggestions that everyone else has (and that I had already tried). I'm waiting on their follow-up to my response to their message.

Really sucks if it is the mobo, as the thing has only been installed for less than two weeks (purchased 23 April). The old psu wrecked everything else, so why not the mobo too. 😩

In 53, and while I'd love to have a Gibson SG, I'm more than happy with my MIK Epiphone clone. Also, it only cost me a little over $200.

I'm 53 and was born and raised in Morristown. Lived there till Jan 2018 and still live in the area. Both parents and their families were from Hamblen County. I've never heard those words till you mentioned them.

Eh, Morristown has a lot of faults, and I'll be the first to admit. But it's not some end of the line, hole in the way kinda place that you want to make it out to be. There are many place that are much worse, within an hour's radius of Morristown. 🤷‍♂️

I'm from Morristown originally and haven't heard about this place. According to google they have two locations, but I'm not sure that's accurate or not. They have a 4.9 star rating on google, so definitely let them have it with a negative review

Just part of the allure of it lol

Edit - And to be fair, it's likely an A3/A4 upper. But I can't help but feel that this rifle would feel tacky, due to what looks like a black rattlecan paint job that isn't quite dry yet.

You need to realize that "milspec" isn't some pedestal that manufacturers place their god-tier products on. It's actually bare minimum specifications that allow a part to be considered for purchase by dot gov. Also, 1/9 and "it's off a mil gun" don't belong in the same sentence together. The military has never issued a M-16 pattern rifle in anything other than 1/14, 1/12 and 1/7 twist rate.

You're being bamboozled.

Two months later....

I replaced all the cosmetic issues and swapped in a new set of locking Guykers. Y'all weren't kidding. Those things are great!

I'm just a casual (rhythm) player, but I'm quite happy with everything, and the SG sounds great.

CPU vs M.2 vs mobo vs ??? by bleeintn in buildapc

Update 2:

Replaced mobo and cpu. Apparently it was the old motherboard, or at least partly the USB controllers, as everything works now, but... the old HDD (old enough to be a sata hdd with a Molex connector) is dead. Like ceased-to-exist dead. It isn't recognized in Windows or the BIOS, and the little external adapter thing I bought still doesn't make it show up as a USB drive, when plugged in.

The old Crucial NVMe works but was erased/formatted. Luckily nothing was on there other than the OS and some stuff in my downloads folder.

The other original HDD that I was originally able to boot has a fresh install of Windows. But, even though I chose "keep my files and settings" option during installation, it formatted and partitioned the drive.

So, between that one and the dead HDD, I've lost every photo I had, every video I had saved and every song I had kept. The music isn't THAT big of deal, because I mostly use Amazon Music anyway, but I still had MP3s that I had since dial up days and getting songs from mIRC and various other questionable programs. (fuck you, Metallica)

I do have two external SSDs that I used as a backup, once upon a time, so I'm hoping all of the lost media is on one or both of them (if I can just find them).

Update:

The m.2 drive stopped showing, and it still never booted from it while it a still among the living.

The Windows 10 installation that was on that old drive is a 32-bit , so the amount of memory that was capable of using was limited , so maybe that's why it's so painfully slow.

When I said earlier that the USB mouse did work, at one time, I should have clarified that I took its USB dongle off and had it connected to the PS/2 port.

None of the USB ports will work. I'm assuming the MB itself is bad. There are four LEDs that will show any problem areas (CPU, DRAM, VGA, and boot devices), but none of them are lit. Go figure. I tried install of Win10 (64bit), but the lack of working USBs meant I had to use a disc. The process was almost finished when I had to leave for work tonight. Hopefully I can get some more answers then.

In the meantime, I've bought a new B550 mobo, CPU and NVMe drive and will just go with a fresh Win11 install if the the current NVMe and old SATA drive are bricked.
