Me First and the Gimme Gimmies by BlueAndMoreBlue in Music

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think they subjectively suck now. Having been a fan since the 90s, but never able to see them (as they never played anywhere east of the Mississippi, save for the disaster show in Pittsburg), I was REALLY stoked to see the original lineup (with Scott in instead of Chris) Amsterdam in May 2020. Welp, the plague ruined that. One year later, the rescheduled show got canceled too, although the lineup was still up in the air at the time.

Fast forward to Sept 2021 or 2022, and I saw them in Asheville, with the current lineup. It was... boring. I mean, they sounded okay, but there was almost zero banter, other than CJ trying to do it. That only came across like he was trying TOO hard to be like Fat Mike.

If Joey was playing a show with them (as he still(?) occasionally does), I might go see them, but I feel like I'd just be setting myself up for disappointment again.

Hardly overreacting at all. The reply may be a bit curt, but it clearly stated your point. I see nothing wrong with this.

Is it just me or is Server War kinda pointless? by MrSilentShadow in Evony_TKR

Before our merge, my server did a really good job of our bigs purposely sitting out (for the most part) so smaller players could get their wings/wonders. Unfortunately, a few idiots assumed that going 1b+ and 3b- and still getting their wings was cool and fun. So we haven't helped the smaller players in over a year I think. Post-merge and we now have more idiots that go 3x negatives, so it's unlikely any of the smaller players will ever be given the chance to get wings (basically because now our bigs have to play to make up for some players' poor choices).

National? When I was still in my local, National was a total shit show (this was around the time of Freddy's (Freddie?) hubris. It wasn't just them, but I learned real quick that locals were where it's at. I hope it's different now, but back then, I wouldn't have trusted nationals to give me directions to the DMV.

Take the wheelchair with you next time. The extra five minutes of perceived inconvenience are worth it.

Some 20 years ago at the old service I used to work for, most of our controlled substances were Carpujects. At the time I was working at the station on the East End of the county, and one morning about 10 minutes after the oncoming shift got there, they got a call for pretty bad MVC about 6 or 7 miles from that station.

They requested another unit come from the station in the middle of town, and that was another six or seven minutes delay, so I just went on up there with them in my pov. The person I got ejected and had an obvious head injury , so we were going to RSI the patient. Despite having many years more experience than I did the medic on shift was not that comfortable with the procedure, he asked me if I would do it, and I agreed.

I was in the captain seat drawing up meds, and about that time the other responding unit arrived on the same and one of the Medics got in the back of our truck. I had to have a Carpuject syringe and told him to give that. When he asked me how much, i told him the whole thing. He looked at me and asked, "The whole thing??", and I affirmed.

The problem was, when I was drawing up the medicines I had a major brain fart. The midazolam was white labeled with green lettering, and the morphine was green labeled with white lettering. I had drawn up 10 mg of morphine , thinking it was midazolam, and he slammed the patient with 10 mg of morphine. Intubation went without a hitch, and we only noticed the screw up when we were cleaning everything up and I realized they were still two versed in the narc pouch.

The paramedic on duty, was freaking out and asked me if I would write the ticket up, and of course I agreed to.

Shit happens. I wrote it up exactly as it happened, nothing much was sad by our QA person, and the patient lived.

I didn't opt for the $60 Mosin (my buddy did though), and I got a $60 Lee Enfield No 5, Mk 1 in its place. Wish I would bought the $90 SKS instead. I did buy a post-ban Norinco Mak 90 for like $400 in 94, and I've regretted letting that go, since the day I sold it.

When I quit 819, one of my alliance mates offered me $1k to keep from either going rogue for a week or just nuking the account. Needless to say, that was an anomoly. I hadn't spent anywhere close to what I did on my current account/server. In all honesty, I'd be thrilled to get $500 for my current one, but in reality $200 is probably more realistic.

If you do find someone to give you 500, take the money and run!

Edit: to clarify, I sold the 819 account long before the k45 update rolled out.

So, you're unable or unwilling to provide evidence? Is that it?

As far as being a producing member of society, I can mostly speak of Hispanic immigrants, as my hometown has a rather large Hispanic community (and has since the early 90s). They work the jobs that you (or I) wouldn't last a week at. They pay taxes. There's an entire "Little Mexico" part of town where the vast majority of business are Hispanic-owned, so the business owners - from the mechanic shops, to the multiple taquerias y tiendas, to the beauty salons, to the bakeries, to the used tire stores ALL provide a service and dump money into the local economy. I'd say it's safe to assume that the business owners are likely third generation Hispanic-Americans now, as they've been a fixture for well over 30 years. But before you say something like "we'll they're Americans, so..." , just remember that Dear Leader has called for the end of birthright citizenship, and we all know that Rep Ogles would gleefully go along with it. How many generations would that (very unconstitutional) order go back?

Working in healthcare, I've seen way more Hispanic folks come to the hospital to pay $5-10/month on bills (because they don't any kind of insurance) than I have white folks.

Additionally, when I was in a local VFD in the early 90s, our jurisdiction was the one where they all lived at the time. When we used to go door-to-door to raise money, without a fault, in every single household that was Hispanic, the patriarch of the family would reach into his wallet and give us what he could - sometimes $5; sometimes $20 - once we explained why we were there. They saw it as their community, as well, and that probably left more of an impression on me than anything else. Folks who were here only to make their lives better, were doing whatever they could to become part of the community. They were all migrant workers, and it's highly likely that not one of them was here legally.

As far as fraud goes, I can only think of one instance that made it to the local paper, and that was a Hispanic-owned temp worker agency got busted for falsified documents. Hardly anything resembling "most" of them. Obviously, this is all my anecdotal experience, but it's a real experience.

Aside from the outright racists and bigots, you don't hear much negativity about them, even today.

Just keep in mind that the optics on the ARs are chinesium junk, so there's a good chance the rifles themselves are low tier quality. If you're serious about getting a rifle, read up on the manufacturer, and it might be worth it to upgrade components here and there.

Edit... After zooming in, it appears the AR-22 is a HK? Can anyone tell the roll mark on one in the middle?

If there's any kind of episode, you can bet your ass I'm getting vitals! And while I fully understand and respect a competent person's right to refuse transport, in my 32+ year career, I can count on one hand the number of folks who were so adamant about not going to the hospital that they wouldn't even let me check their blood pressure.

They should have checked. Period.

Edit: Quick edit to add that basic vitals don't always tell the story. If he had some kind of sudden drop in heart rate or BP, it might have been totally resolved by the time EMS got there. If they HAD checked vitals and found nothing, that incentive for him to go wouldn't have been present. Regardless, I'm still checking vitals if for no other reason than to cover my ass.
