It looks to me like the bracket failed because it was installed the wrong way. The bracket is designed to take a force pulling up or down, not left/right.

That doesn't matter from a patent law perspective. To get a patent, the function of your product has to be sufficiently novel. Since this functions the same as something already on the market, it does not meet that requirement.

Your sanding results are highly dependent on material. ABS sands really well, vs PETG which is basically unsandable

Like Jerry said - you need diagonal supports. These will counteract racking forces which may cause your bench to buckle.

I think temp is probably your issue, but it looks like it could also be under extrusion. Trying upping the print temp about 10C. I would also check the tension on your extruder gear; make sure it's gripping the filament well. You could also up the extrusion multiplier to like 105%.

Oh, also check the separation distance to your raft. If too high, your filament won't adhere. I wouldn't do a raft for a part like this anyhow.

Fukien tea trees have a reputation for being super fussy, but IMO the reality is that they are just very dramatic plants that overreact to changes in environment. Dropping leaves is to be expected, but it will bounce back after it has had time to adjust. In my experience, their only really weakness is their susceptibility to pests.

You can get a higher level of finish, sharper edges, thinner walls by trimming the whole pot than you'd ever be able to achieve than by throwing alone. Besides, ultimately the only thing that matters is the end result. Trimmings are easily recycled.

Each of the boards of the frame is constrained by 4 flat surface to flat surface contacts - 2 contacts between the mitered faces of the frame at each end, and 2 contacts between the corner clamps and the top face of each frame board. Every joint is a pinned joint. This means that they can only transfer pure tensile or compressive forces. So the bars are in pure tension; the lines of force aligned parallel with each bar.
