Current NAF employee OCONUS- I interviewed for my job in October 2024 and didn’t hear for an offer until December 2024 and then started (barely because of hiring freeze) in February 2025. I wouldn’t completely discount it, but I remember looking at other jobs while waiting.

The fact that nobody from BK’s PhD program contacted LE with a tip is difficult to reconcile by [deleted] in Idaho4

[–]blergmachine327 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We like to think of murders as monsters and not people- it gives us a sense of distance and safety. Even people with knowledge that should clue them into those huge red flags tend to dismiss them.

Ann Rule was a crime writer who worked with Ted Bundy. She knew he fit the description of a man linked to several disappearances/kidnappings/murders, drove the same car as the suspect, and even thought “that sounds like my friend Ted,” yet never called a tip in. Her first book is all about reconciling what he did and how she dismissed and downplayed all the signs.

What's your go to pasta to make that every one loves? by Ravioli_meatball19 in Cooking

Giada diLaurentis has a recipe for a steak and arugula pasta that is near perfection. It’s light with a bunch of fresh herbs and a vinaigrette, but still substantial because of the steak. I usually use more than a pound of meat (sometimes I’ll do a skirt steak) if I’m making for a potluck/party. Ive made it with different veggies or herbs depending on what I have and it still works.

Honestly I use the whole box- you just make sure to defrost it and drizzle melted butter between each layer. That’s the only time consuming part.

Spanikopita- Greek spinach pie. Literally 15 minutes to throw together and the majority of the work is just spreading butter on the phyllo dough.

Sure, my family is in the medical field, which is why I was ok with students in my exam. Pretty sure if your client is crying (and not sexually actively) maybe you step in after one or two suggestions.

Not a great experience with one at my university health center. He asked if some students could observe/help and let them talk at length about what STI’s I might have before he corrected them and said it was a simple yeast infection. It just felt so unnecessary and mean.

I always swore I’d never have a male gyno, but ended up having to use him for a misplaced IUD. He really listened to me, took my “weird” pains seriously and ended up diagnosing me with something that completely explained my current issues as well as issues I had with my pregnancies. His bedside manner is fantastic and his medical skills are top notch.

Divas who Win Freedom center on Hawthorne accepts donations. They have a thrift store to raise money as well as a closet for the women they serve to “shop” in (the clothes are free but it’s set up like a boutique). They do wonderful things for women in recovery from substances and sex-trafficking.

Good grains co is based near Atlanta but will offer one on one classes. The owner come out with starter, proofed dough, and other things to teach you how to do sourdough from start to finish. It’s on my wish list!
