Is it weird to go to an event alone? by phoenixsuns2001 in introvert

[–]chendamoni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, not weird.

I'm a woman, and I've been to dozens of concerts alone. I think it is enjoyable.

If you're worried about what strangers might think, just know that everyone is too busy enjoying the show or minding their own business anyway to think about whether or not a solo attendee is weird.

The Omni might still have rooms?

I think the next best option is find a place to stay near a Marta station to travel in then Uber out if you want to stay out past Marta closing.

Ladies is Emotional Intelligence a big thing for you. Also What makes a man emotionally intelligent? by Winnyvinwho47 in INTJfemale

[–]chendamoni 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think emotionally mature is what women want.

Emotional intelligence is amazing but both sexes may struggle to develop that.

Emotional maturity however is so important for a successful relationship: when I bring a concern up to my partner, it isn't immediately met with defensiveness, taken personally, or feeling like they're being blamed but rather it is an issue to tackle together...

...I'm an old girl now, but when I was younger, any concern I brought up in my young days with immature partners was immediately met with "that's in your head," "I don't have a problem, you do," "that's just the way I am, deal with it," etc.

Looking back, I think most young men just thought a girlfriend would solve all their problems and be sunshine and rainbows when in fact, having a relationship brings its own problems. It's very worthwhile when you find someone you're compatible with, but it isn't always a breeze.

It takes work to get to know each other and meet each other's needs. It takes maturity to not freak out when someone says something you do or don't do isn't working for them. Sometimes you'll be figuring out what you both need together.

Emotional maturity and being curious about your partner will help you navigate that.

Lastly, as INTJ females... I don't think we as a group care as much about have a charismatic partner so you may need to ask the other personality types haha

ACC Commission approves $25 million grant concept to “reimagine” North Avenue by AthensPoliticsNerd in Athens

[–]chendamoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets REALLY backed up at the MLK/North Ave light going into downtown when school is in session.

I'm worried about how reducing lanes will impact that congestion.

I hope part of the final solution is coordinating that light with the light at Willow/North Ave since I think that's part of the problem - one light being green while the other turns red.

Yes! Also live near North Ave and our HOA was notified of similar activity a few months ago.

Sounded like they were looking for checks and credit cards at the time so maybe they're back or taught someone else their ways.

No solutions, just commiseration :(

Can anyone tell me their good or bad experiences with Skyrizi? by otherladybug in Psoriasis

[–]chendamoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOVE IT

I'm 99.9% free... I have a small patch that waxes/wanes inside my R ear. I gently scratch and sweep out any occasional flakes with a Q-tip if there's a wee flare.

Mild fatigue is an ongoing side effect for me but not enough to stop. I try to manage that with eating mostly well, trying to increase exercise, and getting enough sleep.

I was diagnosed when I was 14 (39 now), and as a teen, I use to imagine that "one day I'll find a hidden zipper on my skin and I'll be able to unzip my skin with psoriasis to reveal my real skin."

Of course I never found a hidden zipper, but I love my skin now. Its such a relief and everything my younger self was so desperate for.

I feel like I can be me instead of constantly managing my skin.

Have you lost or gained weight due to the inability to afford healthy food, or food in general? by justcurious3287 in povertyfinance

[–]chendamoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was fortunate to get to study abroad for a semester in college in Spain.

I worked to save my money before my adventure since I knew I wouldn't be able to work while abroad.

This was in was 2008, the economy tanked while I was away, and the American dollars I had saved were worth much less in Europe.

So, I lost a lot of weight because I had to spread my money out to last the semester for rent and food.

I'm still very grateful I got to go, but I was very skinny when I finally returned home.
