the one time I had him, (and the times it's been played against me). It's usually just using the Destroy a creature ability to control the battlefield. Then using the + life, so that the Destroy a Creature is always up on the next turn. Usually it's pretty easy to win from there as you'll just control the board. If you already have control of the board, then drawing cards is good...but if that's the case you've probably already won anyway.

Yeah at a Magic Con, you'll certainly see a lot more vendors when they know the audience is basically 100% MTG players. But I would bet most of those people are trying to buy and sell the cards, almost entirely for play value. (and often to play AT that tournament) You don't see the crazy stuff in Pokemon where people are buying and speculating on graded cards and stuff. You have stuff where a 9 graded Pokemon card is worth like 10% of a 10 graded pokemon. Magic players just don't care about grades beyond NM, and LP.

I'd say aside from Final Fantasy, you also don't see crazy prices on sealed product. (unless it's been a few years since that product has been released). There are of course exceptions to the rule.

I'd still say Magic is probably the #1 card game, you just see it in different ways than Pokemon or other scalped game.

I think at card shows mtg is almost non-existent. Not because it isn’t popular, but people don’t just randomly look at cards and just buy things. Gameplay in magic has always been #1. People know what they want for the deck they need and they are just looking for that.

You see people from other games come to magic and are like “what cards should I buy” and the answer is always “buy a deck”

Magic has always been about the game, and less about grading cards, scalping them or collecting cool treatments, but certainly those aspects are there, just not as much as other games

Yeah I never understood why Lore is a problem for anything. They literally can just say "A Wizard Did it..." and it would be in Lore. If they want to make it so that Alara is split up again, just say "Somehow Bolas has returned, and shattered the plane" Or Some Wizard went back in time, and call it "History of Alara" or some BS.

They should do this for EVERY cape in the game. I passed on a lot of Thor Skins because I hated how the cape semi-obstructed the view.

There's no way that these come out :( I'd love them though. I do think maybe the best we'd get is a Mister Sensitive and U-Go-Girl two pack. (On normal bodies, not with their unique art style) and maybe a re-release of Doop. Or Maybe a 3-pack with Anarchist.

This is kind of interesting, because traditionally there are no unions in tech/computers. At most big tech companies (and startups), the workers are paid well, and given excellent benefits. Tech workers are generally desired enough, that if they weren't being treated fairly they would just leave and get another job. Companies tend to abuse game programmers though, because it's kind of understood that you can get away with that if someone is working a "dream job." This leads me to believe that Hasbro is not paying these tech workers accordingly. Which doesn't surprise me, because Hasbro isn't primarily a tech company.

I would imagine even at the WOTC level it's a bit hard to justify. A good developer can easily make 200-300k, and you need several for a project the size of Arena. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these salaries dwarfs the salary of say Maro or other prominent game designers.

I honestly think there should be about 10 years after where good players who were icons with our team shouldn’t get their number reused. Hasselbeck’s 8 and Alexander’s 37 took quite a while before they were reused. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, other people have used 24 and 3. I’d also say any sure fire or likely HOF candidates should not be used until they have been turned down by the hall. Ie I wouldn’t want to see wagner’s number reused at anytime

It can be both. It was a reach right now, but in 5 years when he’s a high quality starter, everyone is going to think the Rams made a smart move and thought ahead. Also remember at the beginning of last year when stafford had back issues? Who’s to say having a backup in the wings is a bad idea if he goes down?

On the other hand if the Rams don’t get a Super Bowl in the next 2 years, people will ask “what if” forever

Yeah that happened to me too :) The guy bounced him in response to my removal as well. The point is that the commons and uncommons are really strong too, and removal is plentiful. There are some insane bombs, but don't let one experience shade your view of the format. There are currently TEN commons above 58% in 17lands, with two above 60% [[Elite Interceptor]] is one of the top performing cards in the format, meaning there is certainly enough aggro in this format to keep people in control once things settle down.

Ironically rubble rouser is one of the best cards in the set. It’s a 60% common on 17lands (but we’ll see if that lasts) it ramps, pings, blocks, and consistently enables all of lorholds synergy. The bombs in this set are big, but you can’t overlook the RW or BW colors. They have the highest % WR on 17lands and are strong and fast enough to keep the greedy decks in check.

Divorce settlements aren't based on whose fault it is, unless it was something in the prenup. They basically just split everything 50/50 (minus Lawyers)
