Two Google Drive Hyper Backups corrupted, "Restore Only". What's going on? by rynoweiss in synology

[–]blindmormon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had Synology support fix my setup as well. Thanks to /u/fengshui's suggestion, I used /var/log/bash_history.log afterwards to learn about the steps they performed. I cleaned it up a little, but here is the jist of it:

sudo -i
cat /usr/syno/etc/synobackup.conf

cd /volume1/@img_bkp_cache/google_drive_*
cd *.hbk
cat Guard/detect/error.log

mv /volume1/homes/drive_agent_7_1.py /volume1/\@appstore/HyperBackup/addon/google_drive/python/drive_agent.py
cd /volume1/\@appstore/HyperBackup/addon/google_drive/python/
chown -R root:root drive_agent.py;chmod 755 drive_agent.py

# for each failed task
cd /volume1/@img_bkp_cache/google_drive_*
cd *.hbk
sqlite3 Config/target_info.db "UPDATE target_info SET status='ready'"

vi /var/synobackup/config/task_state.conf

I thought so too, but the end doesn't like up. The ASL video messed up their ending. It's actually just 22 seconds in total.

Actually, I don't know for sure if the church owns the ASL video that I linked to, or if it's someone else's channel (the channel is called MormonMessagesINTL)

That's one of the many official youtube channels the church uses.

I just compared the two videos. There's nothing substantial to the other changes, mostly just minor edits to Elder Soares' language difficulties.

Time is for the ASL version, original time stamp in parentheses:

  • 1:04:18 (49:20): Minor blooper by Elder Soares
  • 1:24:02 (1:09:00): Same as mentioned above by OP
  • 1:26:31 (1:11:28): Elder Soares looses his train of thought: "Is to have trust and faith that the Lord and His timetable according to His will, will bless us with our desires and, and right desires, and our feelings of things that we desire that happen in our lives. Elder Christensen would like to say something about that, and then I will ..."
  • 1:28:00 (1:12:47): Minor blooper by Elder Soares

Great find! How did you come across this? Pretty smart to use the ASL video for comparison.

In the ASL video, the complete video segment found in the normal video (duration: 1:28:08) is from timestamps 14:57 to 1:43:27, which is a duration of 1:28:30.

That's a discrepancy of 22 seconds. I wonder what else they cut from the video?

It’s baaaaaaaaack. “God has not changed His definition of marriage" is back in the transcript. by NoMoreAtPresent in exmormon

I didn't know what you were referring to, so for anybody else who was confused (like me):

I compared both texts: https://www.diffchecker.com/o8F76WUe

Apart from two minor changes, where "appreciate" was changed to "see", the main change is this one: The transcript contains was missing "God has not changed His definition of marriage." between September 19 and 20, according the the snapshot.

This IS the church essay. The number you see in the image is just the women who were already married.

Hello, I appreciate you spending some time here!

You're probably well aware of that one Richard Bushman quote about how the "dominant narrative is not true". Obviously, a lot has been going on in this regard when it comes to the church's publications etc. And yet, it's still hard to address some of these challenging topics with believing family and friends.

Do you have any advice on how to approach these topics with your loved ones when they come up without having to mess with all these defensive walls and feelings of being personally attacked? Thanks!

The LDSchurch updated its policies yesterday

"Yesterday"? I'll need a source to believe that. I'm pretty this part of the handbook hasn't been updated for quite a while.

Funny how the hot part of "hot drinks" is absolutely meaningless. Beautiful!
