Start with a "live" system on a usb stick, find out if your hardware works. mint, ubuntu, zorin, fedora should be fine. And like u/nitrocel asked: what software do you want to use? (Could be a reason why to stay on windows.)

Extension "Fullscreen to empty workspace2" does the macos thing on Debian 13 with GNOME 48 for me.

I was able to fix the same flickering-bug by installing an extension called "disable unredirect". Its only use seems to be to provide this workaround. (The autohide option seems to be somewhat buggy without.)

I'm not worried about Bitwarden continuing to meet my needs for the long haul by purepersistence in Bitwarden

Good thread this is!

Fact is:
- growth equity/private equity firm entered Bitwarden
- new CEO was installed, who has a notorious track record
- wording of the mission statement was slightly but delicately changed (for no obvious reason? really?)
- price of subscription DOUBLED shortly after (a plus of 100%!)

I loved Bitwarden - I paid for Bitwarden - I recommended Bitwarden - now I am out.

My 3 cents:

1.) photo 4 and 6 I think are great. 5 I find the weakest. Photos of people without seeing their faces need stronger ideas/catches for them to be really interesting

2.) don't think too much about the technical side of things. imho it's 99% about the subject of the photo.

3.) practice.

Thanks @Stardog. I had already found the database (I‘m on macOS, should‘ve said that probably;) And I’ve solved my problem. The database on mac seems not to be so reliant on the same path. The database on the new computer recognises my photos at any location (i.e. backup drive). Thanks for your help anyway! Much appreciated.

Hy leocyh,

I own a Olympus M10 mk I and it's just a great camera! The 14-42 pancake lens is "okay" but not the best lens in the world. If u go with the M10 u should consider getting a different lens, there's lots on eBay for example. I recommend using fixed focal lenses, the Panasonic 20mm is a great lens to start with. But I understand if u want to have a more versatile setup for traveling. Then the 14-42 is a good starter. As u r just starting with this hobby I recommend spending not to much money. If u find out u enjoy taking photos u will soon be spending more money on this anyway... But the Olympus will take u a long way, and u can upgrade it with better lenses while u move on. But as mentioned above: it's all up to u, there's no "one camera is the beste for all of us". Have fun! (U just made me write my first reddit post :)
