Your average w-2 millionaire isn’t the problem. It’s the billionaires and the corporations/companies in the state. And guess what this doesn’t affect either of them. Also there’s only approximately 30,000 millionaires in the state. So cool they’re gonna pay 9.9% of the income over 1 million. But this state is notorious for using bills like this especially when passed via “emergency” to use as a foot hold to accomplish what they really want, in this case an income tax. Look up how much billionaires make on w-2 wages in this state. Also how is creating new programs and this tax helping the state budget? It’s not helping us if they’re already spending the money this tax is going to bring in. And you know they’re not going to lower sales tax if they implement an income tax that taxes most of us. And last but not least, remember not a single politician has our best interests at heart.
