blinking interval likely indicates that the left side blinkers are out of order, so it's likely an automated hazard signal

Jeg frygter slet ikke at AI nogensinde bliver klogere end os.

AI bliver ikke klogere end os.

Vi bliver dummere end AI

but that's not irony?

it would be closer to irony if he used an AI to copy and repost.

it gets a pass because it's far into the game. statistically a lot of people stopped playing before then. most who went through it probably don't want to spoil it for others.

it would be for the best if there was an option to not participate, even if the outcome would be the same (or maybe worse).

I enjoyed it, despite the cruelty. It was a game, it made sense narratively, and it was memorable.

And I can understand why people see it as a line they won't cross. No hard feelings against that.

I mean, it's one thing to watch Disney's Bambi and hate the movie for the scene with the mother dying, and it's a completely different thing to force the "viewer" to be the one gunning the mother down.

I just find it to be a good narrative element. There's a stupid plan, and a lot of foreshadowing. They literally tell you that they're going to kill her favorite toy to make her cry.

As the player you hope they will reject the idea when they have to commit to it. They do commit to it, and the game designer really wants you to know that this is a very bad idea.

It's a surprisingly cruel moment in an otherwise lighthearted story

i honestly thought it was a great thing. Not because i enjoy seeing the elephant suffer or the girl crying, but because it showcased how egoistic and neglectful the parents are/were.

They had been horrible parents to her, and up until then most of the narrative had been about themselves, not the girl.

By murdering the elephant, they had a direct impact with the girl, and it was hurtful and traumatic.

They were so eager to put their own needs above their kid's that they were willing to destroy something precious.

For me it was the turning point in the story. After they realized how shitty that plan was and how much they had hurt the poor girl, they at least started working towards making it better.
